I dreamt we spoke, I dreamt we spoke again.
It had been so long, it had been so long, my mind filled the blanks.

I dreamt we spoke again by death cab for cutie.

I checked my watch. "Brooklyn do you like the dinner?" Jennifer asked.

"Sure. It's great." I checked my watch.

"So Brooklyn I heard one of your friends left." Jennifer continued as she cut a mashed potato in half.

I glared at my mom. She knew how I hated sharing what I really care about with others. Then again she went around telling her friends and of course, her family.

"Yes. She did. If you Excuse me." I pushed the chair and stood up.

"Hey! Where are you going?" Dad asked with his mouth full. "I'm gonna go use the bathroom." I checked my watch, impatiently waiting for Alexis to come pick me up.

The exact moment I was done peeing, I heard the bell rang. I didn't hesitate to wash my hands as quickly as possible and jumbled out.

My mom has already opened the door. Alexis was wearing a cap and his impassive face was towards my mom. "Can I help you?"

"Yes. I'm here for Brooklyn."

Jennifer turned around from her seat to wink at me and then went back to her meal. "Bye everyone." I announced as I went outside to stand next to Alexis. "Bye mom." I said in a hushed tone as I closed the door. I knew my dad's protests were about to happen so I rushed to the car I assumed was Alexis'.

It was a red car and in conclusion, it was a wreckage. "Cool car."

"You don't have to compliment what obviously isn't complimentary."

I stayed silent but couldn't help grinning. "So is it a party we're going to?"

He shook his head and after that he turned on the radio which by that, I assumed he didn't want to talk so I zipped my mouth and enjoyed the ride.

When he stopped, I looked around for a house but in that place there were only apartments. We headed towards the smallest one around. Alexis rang number 9. The door opened, we got in the elevator. Alexis said hi to a very bulky man who just got out of the apartment number 10.

Honestly, I was starting to get anxious.

He knocked on the door with a silver 9 attached to it. We waited but not long for the door to open.

"What's your friend's name?"

"Dylan."

Man, it was the dude with hoodie.

The door opened and stood in front of us a guy who was taller than Alexis, with a tanned face and awful messy hair. His eyebrows where knitted together but the moment his eyes were on me, the frown eased and he whistled.

Alexis put both his hands on Dylan's shoulders and pushed him back inside the apartment. "Dude, it's really early to start."

As Dylan was being pushed back, he checked me out. I followed them inside the apartment. It was really small and cozy. It didn't have much in it, just a couple of comfy sofas and a big flat tv.

Alexis pushed Dylan down on the sofa, he sat down next to him. I stood somewhere near them awkwardly. "I'm Brooklyn." I told Dylan with a small wave of hand.
