I saw Alexis sitting alone on the lunch table. I swallowed my new founded anxiety and headed towards him. Without a word I sat down next to him.I didn't bother talking so did he. After what Lola pulled off yesterday, we kind of went awkward. But I was working on it.
He pushed his french fries towards me. "I just figured you liked french fries so I just bought it."
My melting heart. "Thanks Alexis. You sure you don't want to eat it too?"
"I'll just stick with my apple."
After I was finished, the bell rang. I stood up and wondered how he didn't leave the table today. "Where's Dylan by the way?"
"Not here?"
"No shit." I nervously chuckled because I felt like I invaded their personal space. We headed for our classes. Before we drifted apart, Alexis spoke. "We're hanging at Dylan's tonight. If you wanna come, you're welcomed." He politely stated and before getting an answer from me, he started walking.
That night, I studied for a test I missed on Monday. I had one more chapter left when I decided, all my focus was in Dylan's apartment. So I dressed up, grabbed mom's car keys and with a small goodbye I left home.
I rang number nine. I waited for an answer for a while. When I was about to give up and leave, the door opened. I wondered what took them to long, maybe I wasn't welcomed. I was in the corridor when I decided I wanted to leave. As I opened the elevator door to get out, a door slammed open. "Where is she?" Someone whispered harshly.
"Brooklyn?" It was definitely Dylan.
"Hey Dylan. Sorry just got out of the elevator. Haha." I instantly closed the elevator door. "Just come on in and don't you fucking judge!" He grabbed my hand and pulled me inside the house.
I entered, nothing was unusual. I spotted Alexis sitting very awkwardly on Dylan's red couch. "What's wrong with you?" I laughed as I studied his tense body. He slowly pointed to the small couch beside me.
I saw a very small but pretty girl, sleeping on the couch. The girl wasn't a problem, the fact she didn't have her upper body covered in any material of clothing, made me a bit uncomfortable. "Alexis, I don't suppose she's Angel?"
He stood up with a frown and came to stop right next to me. "She's-"
An adenoidal voice interrupted our conversation and both my head and Alexis' snapped towards the source which happened to be the girl. "I'm Christine, Darling." She waved a hand of dismissal at me.
Dylan appeared next to me with a sweaty forehead. "Yes. Right." Dylan scratched his stubble. "She is Christine." I saw how his eyes twitched from not watching her body. "She's a very dear friend of mine." Dylan inhaled deeply. "I asked her to be here." He turned towards me with sweat, now dripping from the corner of his eyes and somewhere on his cheek. "Daniel, my younger brother called me to say dad is visiting tonight. I wanted to piss him off, so I needed a lady. I asked Christine to stay here for a while."
"Oh shit! What I'm gonna do? Should I leave?"
"No! I extremely suggest against that. Can you and Alexis do a little show?" He asked shyly. We both shouted no and Dylan became the most miserable person on the earth.
Something popped into my head and without thinking I did it. "I can still help you."
I pulled out a pack of cigarettes from my hoodie pocket. "You smoke?" Dylan asked.
