An officer came in the room, causing all the heads to look in his direction. He looked at the papers in his hand, and then spoke.
"Michael Clifford?" He called out.
"Hhhmm" He groaned, getting up.
"Tell me, what were you doing at that race?" The officer asked, sitting on the table in front of us. Michael uffed and sat down again.
"What race?" Michael questioned back, as if he had no idea of what the officer was talking about.
"The one where you came from a few minutes ago."
"Was that..a race!?" Michael questioned, showing an innocent expression. "Wasn't it a party?!" He threw his hands in the air, looking at Luke.
"Are you saying you didn't know it was a race?" The officer raised an eyebrow at Michael.
"O-of course not? I-I heard there would be a party, and that's why I went there! I had some, well, a lot of drinks with my friends, and was about to leave when this whole situation happened." Michael stammered.
"I don't buy it." The officer sighed.
"For fuck's sake!" Michael uffed. "I'm drunk out of my ass, and you are interrogating me about something I have no idea about. Can you please leave my poor brain alone?!"
"Watch your mouth!" The officer scolded.
"Hey, Sir, forgive my friend." Calum said, getting up and walking to Michael's side. "The truth is, we had no idea there would be racing or anything. We went there, along with our friends Amanda, Luke, and Jen," he pointed at us. "because we actually thought it was a party. We haven't done anything wrong."
I almost laughed at how innocent and a good boy Calum looked.

Almost an hour after getting in there, we finally got out of the police station.
"To where?" Jen asked, as we walked down the street.
"Ashton's!" Calum stated, as if it was pretty obvious. "That lucky ass must be at home at this hour."
Oh yes, I forgot to mention: Ashton managed to escape. The perks of having a car.
"Well, I should go back home.." I intruded. "And I'll have to sneak in. My parents would kill me if they found out I'm out at this hour of the night."
"Good girl." Michael faked a cough. "You shouldn't be with 'the illegal' if you're a daddy's girl."
"Who the fuck are 'the illegal'?" Calum questioned, confused.
"We are!?" Michael yelled, as if Calum's question was a stupid one.
"Da fuck Michael?!" Jen shook her head.
"What?! It's a cool name!" He defended himself.
"Oh my god Mike, you're too high." Luke sighed.
***
We called two cabs.
One drove the guys to Ashton's house, and the other, drove Jen and I to my house.
"You didn't have to come with me." I said, walking to the back of my house.
"It's ok, I wanted to make sure that everything would be fine." She smiled. "But now that you are here, I should go home as well."
"Of course! Thanks for coming." I thanked, giving Jen a smile.
"You're welcome." She answered, and turned around in her heels.
I was about to climb to the tree right in front of my bedroom's window, when she turned around and spoke.
"Oh, and Amanda." She said. I looked at her and nodded. "Don't get offended by Michael; he is kind of a dick sometimes." She chuckled.
"Sure." I smiled back.

The day after, Saturday, I got a message from Luke.
I don't even remember giving him my number...?
"Hey Amanda! Come hang with us today. Ashton will pick you up at 3 k?"
Wow, they assume I'm in the mood to meet them.
"Do you know my adress?!" I replied.
A few seconds later, my phone buzzed again.
"Jenny does. She'll come along ;--)"
***
By ten past three, Ashton parked his black car in front of my house.
I told my mom I was going to a friend's house, and got out, not giving too many details.
"Hey." I greeted, getting in the car.
"Hi, love." Jen smiled.
"Ready to ride this whale into the sunset?!" Ashton yelled in a high pitched voice, causing me and Jen to burst into laugh.
"You're so weird, Ashton!" I stated, still laughing.
"I know." He winked at me through the rear-view mirror.
***
"We are here!" Ashton yelled, closing the door with his foot, and throwing his keys to a small cabinet in the hallway.
"Living room!" I recognised Luke's voice.
"C'mon!" Jen pulled on my hand and guided me to Luke's living room.
"Hey guys!" Jen greeted, sitting on the couch, between Luke and Calum.
"Hi!" Calum greeted, side hugging Jen.
I stood there awkwardly, but soon Jen looked back at me.
"Take a seat, Amanda!" She gestured to the smaller couch next to where she was.
I smiled, and sat down.
Everybody was staring at the tv, and so I decided to check out what was on.
It was some kind of horror movie.
Great. I love horror movies. (note the sarcasm)
"Popcorns?" Calum offered, handing me a bowl with the blown up corn.
I nodded and took some in my hand.
"Mikawhore in da house!" Ashton yelled, and soon he entered the room.
The smile of the fake blond haired boy that was following Ashton fadded as soon as he landed his eyes on me.
"What is this good girl doing in this house?!" Michael questioned, rather confused and upset.
"She's a friend, remember?" Jen stated.
"Well, not of mine." He sighed, sitting on the couch next to Calum, and throwing his legs onto the coffee table in front of them.
I rolled my eyes at his behaviour, and chewed some popcorns, as Ashton sat next to me.
We stayed there in silence, everyone watching the movie, but me.
All out of a sudden, Calum spoke. "You know what?! Come with me, Amanda!" He smiled and got up, giving me his hand.
"And where are we going?" I asked, taking his hand and getting up.
"You'll see." He winked. "I'll borrow your car, Ash." Calum yelled, halfway to the front door.
"Ok, just don't crash it!" Ashton yelled back.
"I won't." Calum chuckled.
