"I was thinking..." She trailed off.

"What was you thinking woman?" I asked walking back and forth slowly on my porch connected to my bedroom.

"That I should come over and make you dinner tonight."

"That's fine with me."

"It is? Is it okay if Andre comes too?"

"Yeah, bring little man." I said. That boy is full of energy and me being the biggest little kid I am, of course me and the little homie get along.

"Okay, I'll see you tonight."

"Aight. See ya." I said hanging up. I looked over inside and saw Leon looking at me.

"You a trip my nigga."

"What you mean?"

"That girl already got you whipped."

"She don't got me whipped." I laughed it off.

"Nigga, you was looking like a girl in middle school getting her first boyfriend."

"Fuck you." I said putting my house phone on the charger.

"It's true nigga."

"Look, me and Melanie are only friends."

"Friends that kiss each other? And from what I've heard it wasn't just any regular kiss." He said sitting on the sofa in my room.

"I don't know where you got that from." I said sitting down.

"Who else?" He questioned as I looked at him.

"Mayne, whatever." I said pulling out some clothes.

"Told you he would let you." Nya said.

"I just don't know what to make him."

"Make him something good."

"Am I suppose to make him something horrible?" I asked sarcastically.

"You know what I mean." She said as she looked through the clothes on the rack.

"Maybe."

"So what are you guys?"

"We're just friends. I have Andre to worry about right now. With him going to school and Trevor popping back up."

"Trevor's back?"

"Yeah, he's back. Talking about he's gonna take Andre away."

"That nigga ain't gonna do nothing." She said. "I can get Brandon and Leon on him if you want."

"If needed." I sighed. If needed. "What does Chris do?"

"I don't know. He does something that pays good tho."

"He doesn't even look like he works."

"There's a lot about Chris that'll catch you by surprise." She said. "How does this look?" She asked holding a midnight blue dress to her body.

"You can rock it."

"You think?" She asked.

"Yeah, that's all you."

"Hey little man!" Chris said swinging the door open. "What you doing here?" He then asked.

"Mommy said I can show you my car."

"Word? Where's it at?" He asked bringing us in.

"I see Andre gets a greeting." I said rolling my eyes playfully.

"My bad." Chris said smiling before kissing my cheek. "That's my lit homie." He said. "Ain't that right?" Chris asked Andre.

"Yep! We play with cars!" Andre then said.

"Well go be a good boy and play with cars." I said as Chris then picked up Andre and they started playing around. I observed most of the time. Chris seems really good with kids. That's a plus on his part, most guys don't even care for a girl that has a child. Dinner was almost done, which was a good thing cause I am very hungry.

"Where's Andre?" I asked Chris after noticing it was quiet for too long.

"He done passed out on the couch." He laughed walking in the kitchen. "He must've had a long day."

"School and all that running around we did in the store."

"This spaghetti looks good." Chris said picking at the food.

"Get out of it." I tapped his hand.

"I was just looking."

"Which reminds me, I've been meaning to talk to you."

"About?"

"About us."

"Look, I ain't feeling a relationship right now, if that's where this is going."

"Kinda. And I'm kinda in between. Just you really are different from the others."

"What do you mean by that?" He questioned.

"You actually interact with my child, normally any guy I meet has to wait a while before meeting Andre, but you and him clicked and there was no intentions from me or you."

"He's a cool ass kid. That's my homie. I told you that." He said. "Where's his father?" Chris asked.

"You mean donor?" I looked at him as he smiled. "He ran off when he found out I was pregnant."

"Bitch." I heard Chris mumble as I laughed.

"He now wants to be apart of Andre's life."

"Are you gonna let him?"

"I don't know. With the route he's been going, I don't think so." I sighed not wanting to talk about it anymore. "Can we eat?"
