Alannah stood with her jaw on the ground staring at her "friend" Emma all cozied up to her ex-boyfriend Dylan. Alannah went up to a few different people and collected information about this new couple. Alannah was shocked and horrified when she found out that Emma and Dylan had been together for a whole year. That meant Dylan and Emma had been together while Alannah was dating Dylan and they were together when Emma was dating Ethan. They had kept their relationship a secret but when Dylan kissed Laura at the party, Emma lost it and said the only way Dylan could make it up to her was to finally make their relationship public.Alannah didn't know how she felt. She felt embarrassed and disappointed.
Alannah: I am such an idiot.
Jace: No Alannah, you're the furthest from it, he's the idiot. *As Jace said this, he put a comforting hand around Alannah's shoulder. She shook it off, not wanting any affection shown to her and Jace stared at his shoes in disappointment.*
Alannah: I don't understand how he could do this to me?! He made me out to be some sort of monster when actually, he's the monster!!!
Jace: I mean...you still cheated on him too.
Alannah turned to Jace with disgust and anger plastered all over her face.
A: Shut the f*ck up Jace. What the hell?
Jace looked confused and embarrassed, annoyed that he had hurt Alannah's feelings knowing for sure now he would turn him down for the debs.
J: Alannah...I'm sorry!! I didn't mean anything by it.
A: Yeah well you should have thought about it before you said it .
Alannah walked away from Jace feeling hurt that someone she relied on to be nice to her all the time would say that to her. "Was that using him?" thought Alannah. "Well I don't care, he was just rude to me," she reassured herself. Alannah decided at that moment in time, there was one person who she needed to talk to her and would relate to her...Ethan Dolan.
Alannah searched the halls dodging people, including first years with their GIANT bags all over the place. She couldn't find Ethan anywhere so she decided to look outside. She found him outside, alone, sitting on a bench staring at the sky.
Alannah: Hey Ethan...what's up?
Ethan: Nothing much...just realised the girl I loved was cheating on me the whole time.
Alannah: I know exactly how you feel Ethan.
Ethan: Do you Alannah? Do you? Did you know I was planning on asking Emma to the debs by giving her a promise ring and telling her I loved her? Did you know that she told me that she really liked me, insinuating the would say I love you too? Did you?
At this stage, Alannah could basically see steam coming out of Ethan's ears. She decided to do her best to comfort him by sitting down beside him on the bench and resting her hand on his back.
A: Ethan I am so sorry! I had no idea she would play you like that! I really thought she liked you...
E: Yeah well so did I and look where that got me.
They both stared at the sky for a while not knowing what to say without making it awkward. Alannah suddenly had a thought. She knew Ethan was vulnerable but in that moment, all Alannah was thinking off was herself.
A: Hey Ethan...Do you know what would really annoy Emma and what we could do to get back at Emma and Dylan?
E: What?
A: Go to the debs together!
E: Look Alannah, you're a lovely girl and I really like you but I just got out of a serious one-sided relationship. I don't even know if I'll go to the debs let alone with a date. Thanks though.
Alannah smiled through gritted teeth. She still had no debs date. She didn't care how upset Ethan was. She. Had. No. Debs. Date.
A: Are you sure Ethan?
Alannah slowly looked into Ethan's eyes and started leaning in towards his lips. Alannah hadn't realised how good looking he was until this moment. Ethan stared back at Alannah looking very confused and stopped her before she could lean in any closer.
E: Yes Alannah...I'm sure.
A: Fine! You're loss. I only asked you because I felt sorry for you .
E: Okay Alannah.
Ethan decided to walk away before Alannah embarrassed herself even more. Alannah was very embarrassed. She sat on the bench replaying that awkward moment in her head wondering what the hell she was going to do. The debs were 2 weeks away so she had to find her knight in shining armour by then. Just like fate again, someone tapped her on the shoulder. At that moment she hoped it wasn't Zach, unlike earlier. She couldn't face him. Not now. But Alannah was out of luck. Sitting there, with his gorgeous smile was Zach.
Zach: Hey there. You look really pretty today. *Alannah blushed.*
Alannah: Thanks Zach but I've gotta run to class...Geography! *Zach grabbed Alannah's arm and stared into her eyes making Alannah remember their good (but forbidden) times together.*
Zach: I heard what you said to Ethan back there...Ouch.
Alannah: Thanks Zach but I don't need your approval. *Alannah was mortified that Zach had heard that.*
Zach: Why don't you ask me instead? *They both smirked at each other. *
Alannah: Okay...Zach, will you go the debs with me?
Zach: It's a date.
And just like that, Alannah felt like she was on top again. She stood up and walked to class with Zach. She got a text and looked at her phone smiling. It was a text that read, "I'll be there, I wouldn't miss it for the world," from none the other than Mr Daniel Seavey.
