A/N: Everything "Kimi no Na wa/your name." is owned by Makoto Shinkai, the god of feels.

Mitsuha's POV:

I had been careful not to lose the number Taki had written on my hand. Not that it mattered since I had already memorized it. It is Saturday, the day I'm supposed to meet Taki. Yet, here I am, in my apartment indecisive about what to wear and considering whether or not I should call it off. No way. I can't do that. He must be really looking forward to this. Frustated, I put on casual clothes and head out.

"If he likes it, that's good and if he doesn't... it doesn't matter."

Taki's POV:

"I'm jobless."

"Uh, I'm actually still looking for a job"

"I'm an architect, but not really in a company yet."

Dammit. I can't find a single smooth way to explain to Mitsuha that I'm jobless. And she isn't even here. My interview yesterday felt better than most but the authorities have yet to tell me how I did, so I can't be sure if I have a job yet. Anyways, I have more pressing issues at the moment and need to head out now.

Mitsuha's POV:

Taki arrived at the stairs at almost the exact time that I did. We both laugh when we see our timing. It is 5 past 6 so technically speaking, both of us are late. After we both finish laughing the same nervous awkwardness fell in the air. Like last time, Taki spoke out first again:

"So... where are we going for this date?"

DATE?!?!

"O-Oh yeah we are goin' to some cafe nearby ain't that right?"

Crap.

I got so flustered my old accent showed up. Why do I embarrass myself so much... Taki is trying to hide his laughter. Well, he isn't very successful.

"Sorry."

"It's fine."

"Hey how about we go to the cafe that you, well, you as me used to go to so much. Its actually pretty close by and then we'll fina- OOF!"

I punched Taki in the gut.

"This is for violating my body back then."

"Oww, I already said sorry... besides it was only just once."

"Oh really?"

"Okay okay maybe a few times. Can we just go?"

I finally decide to forgive him and left for the cafe.

Taki's POV:

As we enter I get filled with nostalgia. I'm sure Mitsuha is too,  but it should be weird for her since she never came here in her own body. We sit in the same round table for old time's sake.

"So how long has it been? 5 years?" I say.

"8 years for me." Mitsuha replies.

"Oh yeah we had a 3 year time gap. I'm 22 years old now. So that would make you..."

"25 years old"

"Right."

I always thought Mitsuha was the same age as me. I'm sure we both are feeling a bit weird about this.

"So, uh, what's your favourite band?"

"It's RADWIMPS."

"Really? Mine too!"

We chat for a while like this. It seems Mitsuha and I have a lot in common. She didn't even think much about me being jobless. This is good and all but I still have one lingering question.

"So what's your answer?" I say.

"To what?" she replies.

"From 5, I mean, 8 years ago. You know, when I wrote 'I love you'. It's still true to this day. What's your answer to that?"

Mitsuha's face becomes red after hearing that. In fact, even I'm not understanding how I didn't stutter. She clears hers throat and opens her mouth to speak.

Mitsuha's POV: (a few seconds earlier)

"-at's your answer to that?" Taki says.

I stopped hearing for a bit when he said 'I love you'. BAKA TAKI! I was trying to think of a good way to say that I love him and then he springs THIS on me. Overcoming my blush, I manage to say:

"~es~"

"Sorry what was that?"

"I SAID YES!"

"Oh okay."

It is Taki's turn to blush now. He didn't probably think it would be that simple.

"So is it okay to say that we're dating?" Taki says.

"I guess so."

"..."

RRRIIIIINNNGGG!!!

Both of us reach for our phones. Wow. Even our ringtones are the same. Anyways it's mine that is ringing. It's Yotsuha.

"Hello?"

"Onee-san! Where are you? It's the weekend. I thought I'd visit you."

For the record, I live alone in a small apartment and my little sister, who's currently in high school, lives with my grandmother in a house. Yotsuha usually comes to visit at the weekends so she must be pretty angry.

"Oh, sorry. I went out with... someone"

"Ooooh! Is it a man?"

"What? Oh I guess so."

"Ah Obaa-san is going to be so happy! She always thought you'd have trouble finding someone."

"Right."

"Anyway come back already! I'm already tired of waiting"

"Alright I'll come as soon as I can."

"Bye"

BEEP.

"You need to go?" Taki says.

"Yeah... that was Yotsuha. She's waiting for me."

"I guess it's getting late. You should go. I mean, we *are* gonna meet tomorrow right?"

"Yeah you're right. Well then, see ya."

"Bye"

I get up and leave. Taki waving goodbye as I head out. I wonder what might come for us in the future.

A/N: Hi... to my grand total of 2 readers who have added this to their reading list, thank you, and also sorry. Me being my klutzy self wrote this chapter halfway through before accidentally publishing the unfinished version yesterday. At least it worked like a limited time sneak peek. As an apology I'll focus more of my time on this and try to make 2-3 updates per week. Thank you for reading! Bye!

P.S. I personally didn't like writing in first person so I'll switch back to third person and also back to past tense.
