Chase's pov
Emilio sighed. "Well, if you need someone to talk to, me and Ivan are always here. And, obviously, Ava." He chuckled at the end.
I smiled through my pain I kept feeling in my stomach. "Thank you. So much." I said as Emilio smiled at me and started the car, soon driving away.
We we're sitting in the car, listening to the music. I was looking at how beautiful Ava was. She looked so peaceful, too. My thoughts were all filled about Ava. How is she so perfect? Inside and out.
Then, she started shuffling and kicked the seat in front of her, which was Emilio's seat. That must've scared him because he jumped a small bit. I then heard Ava whimper, but I didn't know why. I was actually quite confused as she started moving more.
Emilio heard her moving and shuffling in her seat. "Sh*t." He muttered, pulling over.
He got out from the front seat and opened the door on Ava's side. She started crying, while still sleeping. I got worried, but before I could have done anything, Emilio took off her seatbelt, moving her over so he could sit down.
He then tried to wake her up by whispering her name and shaking her a bit. As Emilio did that, Ava said, "Stop!" kind of quietly. But, she was still asleep.
Emilio pulled Ava onto his lap. "Ava, wake up. Please. You need to wake up. Nothing's going to hurt you. Wake up." He said. Eventually Ava woke up, very scared and cried even more. "Ava, sh, it's okay, you're okay. See? Nothing bad happened. It was just another dream."
Emilio kept Ava on his lap, trying to calm her down. He laid her head on his chest and helped her breath at a normal rate.
"You okay now, Muffin?" He asked her, using what I was assuming was her nickname.
She nodded and looked at me, tears pouring from her eyes still. Ava then looked down like she was embarrassed or something.
Emilio then picked Ava up and put her back in her seat while he went back to the driver's seat. Ava started shaking, as she was so scared. "Ava," Emilio turned to her from the driver's seat. "You're okay. Nothing happened, I know you're scared but we only have a few minutes to get back home. Ivan is rushing me. He made dinner." Emilio said, not wanting Ava to be scared.
He started the car. "You guys ready?" Emilio asked us, making sure our seatbelts were on, which they were.
"Wait." I said and took off my seatbelt. I went to the seat next to Ava, who was still very scared. I put my seatbelt on and gave Ava a side hug for comfort.
Emilio smiled at the sight. "Alright." He said, driving away.
I moved Ava's head so she was resting on my shoulder. I stroked her soft, silky hair as it calmed her down. What was she so scared about? Maybe it was just a regular nightmare.
I lowered my arm down to her waist. She flinched. "You okay?" I asked her. She nodded and snuggled up into me more. She looked very cold. "Emilio?" I asked him.
Emilio turned the music down a bit so he could hear better. "Wassup?" He asked me.
I cleared my throat before speaking. "Do you mind turning the air down a little bit? Ava's really cold." I asked politely.
He nodded. "Yeah, of course." Emilio turned the air down and the music back up.
Ava looked up at me. "Thank you." She whispered.
I smiled at her. "Yeah no problem. If you want you can go back to sleep." I told her.
Her eyes got wide. "No." Ava shook her head.
