Chapter 3-End of the tournament

Nya pov

I sighed as I got up and looked around my room. I feel as if someone is looking out for Kai. He had an easy fight yesterday. Nature against fire, even Chen would've made something else if it were to be interesting for him. I walk to my uniform and get changed before I head out. Soon, I was travelling with the others to an arena. Chen then spoke. "For todays tournament, we have the master of earth fighting the master of... wait for it.... lightning." How did this happen. I look over at Kai and he was as surprised as I was. When two gates opened. Jay walked out with Cole coming from the opposite direction. This wasn't going to down well.

I watch as Cole attempts not to hurt Jay but I can already tell that one of them is going to have to loose. Soon, Jay grabbed the jade blade and looked at Cole who fell down below. Garmadon was fast to speak. "They did what they must. We must not dwell on this lose. For we will see him again. Chen will have a use for him" I felt much better but I knew that it wasn't over. The master of sound had already lost to Skylor. And now we were low in number. The challengers would soon be over.

Kai pov

As I walked back to my room, I noticed Garmadon watching me. He really didn't trust me. It all started when I stayed back to talk with Clouse and then to talk with Skylor. He think's I'm spying for Chen, and well, he would be completely right. But the others didn't know that and that's how I want to keep it.

Soon, I had arrived at my room. Looking back, I noticed no one else was there. So I enter. When I enter, I find Skylor standing there before she turns, Chen next to her. "Kai, we need Lloyd and Nya to be the last two standing. And I have a feeling that this will prove very useful next round. You two will need to help him with the other ninja, so do not decide to go with the challenger tomorrow." I nod and watch as they leave. I look back and sigh. This was going to use up a lot of energy but hey, it could be worse.

The next morning, we had arrived at a race track. Lloyd held a jade blade and so did another. We split up into teams. Most choosing the challenger. But Skylor, I and the other ninja stood by Lloyd's side. Casting any doubt that would've been placed on me by Garmadon to be lost, for now at least. As the event started. I kept an eye on the challenger. Making sure that if she ever got close to Lloyd, I would push her back. Nya was by Lloyds side. Ready to give a boost if need be with her water powers. Skylor and Jay attempted to knock the challenger of balance. I was also making sure no one got close to Lloyd. As we came to the final lap. I nodded at Nya and she grabs Lloyd by the shoulder and then fired forward with a stream of water. We had won. The challenger was sent downwards to a cell. Soon. We were ready for the next challenge.

We landed in a jungle. Our goal was to eliminate the others in the competition. I had teamed up with Skylor and Jay as we moved on. Lloyd, Nya and Garmadon were working together and exploring some history. As we approached the edge of a river. Chen walked out behind us and then spoke. "Well, it appears this is the end of the road for you lot. So good luck, master of lightning" I smirk as Skylor walks forward. Me behind her, Jay didn't see this coming. He was fast to jump back onto a rock and speak. "Garmadon was right, you were working for Chen Kai. How could you?" I smile and reply as Skylor freezes Jay's feet. "It was simple. before I met you guys, I became a member of Chen's gang, rising up high fast, it was from Skylor that I discovered I had elemental control over fire. All you saw of me was a façade. Something set up so that I wasn't caught." I step forward and kick him in the head, knocking him out.

Soon, we were in a chamber. Jay was being brought up to the front area. The other elemental masters looking around. Chen stood forward and took their powers before he turned to us and spoke. "Now we need the master of water and Lloyd. so Kai, you and Skylor will prove useful in this. Lure them both in, but Kai, I want you to take down Nya with Skylor. I want to take on Lloyd myself." I simile as I watch the others being taken away. It was going to be good....
