Levi x reader I love you more than the stars

Mission

You walk to the stables and begin saddling your horse. Levi approached you placing a hand on your shoulder. "You look like your about to collapse from fear." Levi states. "I know I'm just concerned about everyone..." you say Levi glares at you with eyes of steel. "Worried about everyone or me?" He asks you look up not surprised that he knew exactly what you were thinking.

He sighed and hugs you "Look promise me you'll fight and just be okay. Don't do anything reckless." He whispers hugging you tightly against his chest. You try your best to not cry "I promise but you have to do the same. Look after the others." You say glancing at Petra and the others.

Levi gently kisses you on the lips "I promise..." he whispers "...I love you." He says you try to hold the tears that this may be the last time you see him. "I-I love you too..." you respond. You then mount your horse and ride out to the formation. You spare one last glance at Levi then turn around. You pull up your hood on your cloak as tears stream down your face. Then out of no where a hand grabs your shoulder. "You alright kid?" Miche asks with concern.

"I'm fine really it'll pass just a flash back is all." You say, Miche continued to look at you as you wipe the tears from your face. "Are you afraid of dying?" He asks you look at him wide eyed.

"Actually no. But I have to live for someone, I'm not afraid of death I'm afraid of what my death will do to the people who care about me. I have to live for my friends. What scares me the most is the thought that I live and everyone else dies. I know it's selfish but I'm afraid of being left alone..." you explain Miche didn't say anything he just sighed.

"I wish you didn't have to know that fear considering how young you are. It's not selfish everyone has the fear of being alone. You've got people you care about at least you have something to live for...most people don't even have that much. I envy you on that front." Miche explained I smile and take off my hood.  "Thank you, you know you remind me of a big brother. So protective." You say Miche blushed and looked away.

———time skip to the elimination of Levi's squad———

You zip through the forest attempting to find Levi's squad. Your approach the part of the forest where the female titan was last seen. Then you see it Petra's body against the tree blood in her hair and on her face. Levi's squad was completely wiped out there remains scattered across the forest. The sight was too much you let out a scream and collapse on the ground and cry. "No no no no no no. This is a a dream it has to be. I don't see his body it can't be, did I loose them all today...we had a promise" you cried

———Levi's POV———
That scream it sounded like (Y/N) could it be...no no she's alive. I try to convince myself I zip around and found her crouched on the ground sobbing then a titan came out from the shadows picking her up she didn't resist is she an idiot? "DONT FORGET YOUR PROMISE!" I scream. Her head snaps in my direction as she breaks free from the titans grip she fell but caught herself with her ODM gear.

I look down and see why she was crying I bite back the tears now wasn't the time for tears. I can't afford to mourn now.

I slice the titans nape and join her on the branch. "You had me worried. I'm glad I got here in time." I say she looks at me with tears in her eyes and streaming down her face she. "I can't anymore...Levi why why is our world like this? Why can't I openly love you? Why do titans exist? And why do they have to take everything from us? It isn't fair! It isn't fair dammit." She asked I knelt to her level. "I'm sorry I don't know how to answer those questions well. I can't make sense of why the world is the way it is. I just know what I know and I know I love you more than anything. I'm sorry I can't protect you from pain" I say trying not to cry. "How  do I forget how do I move on?" She asks I look at her. "There is a switch in your mind. You have to turn off the guilt the feeling." I answer it was a lot to ask of her.

I knew he was just as burdened by it but he couldn't afford to let sorrow cloud his judgment it was sad but it was the ugly truth there was no telling what was burdening this mans heart. He's been broken repaired and broken again. He hugs me and brings me closer to him. "I'm not going to let you go." He whispered. The tears stopped as he kissed me. I melt into the kiss and kiss him back.
