Dark remained outside the bedroom. He was attempting to drown out Anti’s current anger outburst with music. For the time being Anti had no clue that he had returned home yet. And with how his explosion was going, hopefully it would stay that way, at least until he’d cooled down. As he hit the volume button causing the music to go louder there was a loud crash. Like something large or heavy being knocked over. He closed his eyes drowning out Anti as he started spewing profanities that could’ve made a sailor blush. This was the third time this month alone. And it wasn’t nearly the first one either. It was almost getting out of control at this rate. Damian sighed.Suddenly a door burst open making Dark jump. Quickly he stashed his phone and headphones into his suit pocket. Anti stormed out of the room, fuming. His malevolent eyes quickly landed on Dark. He gave a nervous smile at Anti. Not wanting to encourage his anger anymore so.
“How long have you been home?” He snarled at Dark.
Dark looked everywhere except at Anti, avoiding his eyes, “only a few minutes. Was you’re day alright?” He tried playing dumb. It didn’t work
“Lies!” Anti screamed in anger, “Stop your lies!”
Dark remained calm taking his anger coolly, “I have only been gone a few hours Anti.”
Anti shook his head, and snapped, “That’s the issue. You never tell the truth. You have no proof you went one place over another, and you always waltz around like you own the place. You don’t even care about me,” his eyes narrowed.
Dark looked at Anti offened, “Of course I care Anti!, I al – “
“Oh really?” Anti spoke dangerously calmly, “Because you certainly HAVE NEVER SHOWN IT!” His hands flung out in anger and smacked a vase off the vanity against a nearby wall. Porcelien smashed. Pieces scattered everywhere.
“Anti please, just calm down,” Dark started in attempt.
Anti curled his lip in disgust, his anger boiling over again, “Calm down?” he let out a low laugh, the kind that you would here right before you watched someone go crazy. There was no happiness behind it. “NO. You honestly expect me to be calm? NOW?!”
“Come on, let’s settle this peacefully,” Dark began to coax gently, “Just take a breather Anti.”
“NO! Dark you don’t understand. How could you anyway?” Anti’s hands clenched. One hand had a redness and bruising around the knuckles. There’s the answer. That caused the crash. “I can’t believe you! You’ve dragged this mess in with you here! And you act oblivious to every issue. You know what I think,” Raw emotion contorted his face, “I think you should shut your mouth and not say another word.”
“Then teach me An – “ Dark was quickly cut off.
“I SAID SHUT UP.” Anti barked like an order.
“Clover just listen already!” Dark finally argued.
The words hung in the air, like a knife that had stripped the argument. Anti was stunned. Anger filled him Then in a quick movement. He slapped Dark. Pure rage filling his eyes. Dark’s face stung. The fingers burning. He gently touched his face. Shocked, stunned. The silently he straightened himself. Calm demeanor gone. He stood tall, looming over Anti. He said nothing. His face bent into frustration. Then, he walked out. He left, through the front door. Slamming it behind him. Only emptiness where he once stood. Anti stood there huffing. His heart pounding.
He stood silently, and as the anger and adrenaline faded, guilt set in. As if the events were only now occurring. Only now did the consequences of his action really set in. It was eerily silent now. Painfully still. He didn’t realize he had started crying until a hot tear dripped from his cheek. He wiped it away with his hand. He sat on the couch, and broke.
