07 - The Unexpected Visitor

The big screen in front is still showing product by product advertisements. The movie hasn't started yet and we are seated not so near the screen with May on my left and Arthit on my right. We were about to watch the horror movie that May wants to watch.

When we met May minutes ago, she greeted Arthit with a smile but he only spared her a short glance before he returns in glaring at me. What did I seriously do wrong to receive this kind of treatment back to square one?

I ask him if he's okay with that movie and after glaring at me for a few more seconds, he shrugged his shoulders and mumbled a soft "It's okay," which leads us to where we are seated right now with May clearly showing how she's so excited to watch the movie and Arthit looking like he wants to murder each and every person inside the cinema.

What is really wrong with him? Is he bipolar or something? He was just okay a while ago and the next second, he's so grumpy. He's lucky I like him or I'll throw a tantrum with how he's acting... 

Kongpob, what the hell? How many times do I have to remind you that you're just friends and nothing more? Keep that in mind, geez!

The movie is starting. Good. This will keep me distracted from thinking about a certain someone. Have I said I love horror movies? I don't easily get scared. It gives me the thrill.

She laughs with the back of her hand covering her mouth as she stares at her boyfriend under her long eyelashes. "Say, do you want to come inside and have some coffee before you go home?"

He smiles at her and tuck a few of her strands behind her ear. "That would be nice. Let's go?"

At her nod, they made their way to the door. She inserted her key and turns the knob. A total darkness greeted the couple and they shiver when the cold wind touches their skin. She reaches for the light switch but no light comes out even when she tried to switch it on a few times.

"I don't know what's wrong with this," she mumbles and turns to face her boyfriend. A frown made its way to her face when she saw something moving in the dark behind his unaware boyfriend.

I felt a hand on mine, tightly holding it. I smiled without looking.

Without warning, a shadow like figure engulfed her boyfriend's body and he screams while his body is being drag away in a darker corner of the street, leaving her frozen with her eyes staring widely to where his boyfriend was dragged to.

There's a loud bang followed by a curse and I couldn't help but chuckle. I intentionally plan to ignore those cute reactions to save him his pride but he's too adorable that it's too much for me to refrain myself.

"You okay in there, Arthit?"

He looks at me in surprise before his eyes avoided mine. I'm sure he's blushing right now although I couldn't see it because it's dark inside.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine. Why will I not be fine? Of course I'm fine. It's not like I'm scared or something. I'm fine, Kongpob. Go and watch the movie and stop bothering me. I'm telling you I'm fine. Yeah, I'm fine. Yeah."

I smiled and turn my attention back to the movie. How cute can he get?

After the movie, I have May animatedly narrating the movie to me with her side comments every now and then as if I wasn't there watching with her. She really likes the movie. That, I'm sure of.
