Roka drove their shuttle into the Victory Pearl's hangar. West's voice boomed over
the intercom.
Connect the fragments, Elizabeth. Time is dripping down. We are running out of air
Elizabeth removed it from the bag. It glowed warm. Nothing else happened.
"I guess we should get this to –"
She was cut off by her bracelet beeping.
"That's weird."
"What?" Ana asked.
Elizabeth held up her bracelet.
"It's a bunch of numbers from Lavell. No idea what it means."
Rusalka glanced quickly.
"They're co-ordinates."
"I know that. Why's she sending them?"
Rusalka turned to look out of the hangar window. The realisation caught Elizabeth in
the stomach.
"Think she got hit?" Elizabeth asked, but she already knew.
"It's pretty near where we are. No other reason to send you a message like that."
Elizabeth pulled the door open. Roka was eating a miha fruit, spinning it in his fingers
as he took quick little bites.
"We need to head back out to these co-ordinates. Now."
Roka stripped the miha down to the core in two large bites. He chewed rapidly and
took the bracelet she offered out.
"Right now? I need to refuel first."
Running out of air. Querius. It was a threat. But she could not abandon Lavell.
"You don't need to come. Just tell me which shuttle will get me there fastest."
"There's a sharp-fighter around here somewhere..."
As she looked out of the shuttle, Forr kicked down the hangar doors.
