I wake up in a bed at the hospital. How did I get here? The last thing I remember is seeing Ross get beaten up..
Ross.
I need to see Ross, I need to help Ross.
I blink away the blur, and see my mom and Bradley looking down at me.
"Hey, sweetie." my mom says.
"Hey mom." I say, and manage a smile. Bradley squeezes my hand.
"Is Ross okay?" I ask.
"Ross is going to be fine," Bradley says. "don't worry." I smile.
"How badly is he beaten up?" I ask.
"Pretty bad, but, again, he's fine." Bradley replies.
"How bad am I beaten up?"
"Pretty bad. But you're going to be fine."
"How many girls from wrestling are there?"
"About 8."
"We're they all beating me up?"
"Yeah. Rachel payed them $25 a piece."
"And did other boys beat up Ross along with the girls?"
"Yeah. We got you out of the mix before you could get hurt even more."
"Was I bleeding?"
"Yes. Go back to sleep now." Bradley says in a soft voice.
"Was my head hurt?" I wanted to know everything.
"Yes. Go back to sleep." Bradley says.

I wake up to my mom talking to Bradley. I keep my eyes closed.
"This 'Rachel' girl sounds like a bad person." my mom said.
"Yeah, she caused Alex and I to break up." Bradley says.
"That's the girl." my mom said.
"Yeah. She's been a problem for a while." Bradley says.
"I think you guys should take this to the principal, and I'll go with you if you need too." my mom said.
"Her dad works as the school secretary and her mom is the president of the school board, meaning that she would be the principal's boss." Bradley says.
I stir in my bed. What? So we can't even really report her because her mom would possibly fire the principal if he tried to tell her something about her daughter.
"You could report her to the police?" my mom says. "Beating is considered abuse, and that is illegal."
I open my eyes and look at both of them.
"Good afternoon." says my mom, smiling.
I sit up. "Bradley." I say, "We could report Rachel to the cops." I begin turning my body to get out of the bed.
"We could. Do you want to?" Bradley asks, holding out his arms to help me get off of the bed.
"I want to go see Ross's condition first." I say. "You can stay here mom."
My mom goes on her phone, Bradley grabs my hand, and we walk down the hall to Ross's room.
I walk through the door, and see Ross, with blood stained on his lip, his arm in a cast, his legs bruised. He has a black eye, a bruised cheek, ratty hair. His chest softly rises and falls, to the sound of his soft breaths. It was so quiet that you could hear his heartbeat.
I feel the tears begin to pool in my eyes. Seeing one of my best friends in this condition was really hard. I cry into Bradley's arm. He holds me close.
The doctor then comes in, and kicks us out.
