I fall to my knees. He just, killed himself... The older guard checks to see if Grygore has a pulse. He sighs, and shakes his head. I take a shaky breath, and look back at the Farthox. The Great Farthos stands over me.
"YOUNG ONE.", his voice thunders. "IT MAY NOT BE THE OUTCOME YOU WANTED, BUT IT IS AN ENDING NONETHELESS." I nod, but my brain is still trying to wrap its head around what just happened. How can this be the end?
I mean, he was right. He died, so many others may be inclined to seek vengeance for said death. Then again, he killed himself... do the Musonusi have honor? Would they see such a death as honorable?
I rise to my feet. "Get...", I say, with my throat dry. "Get the Musonusi leader, our races need to talk." I look at The Great Farthos, who nods. "YES. YOU MUST DO WHAT YOUR ANCESTORS COULD NOT, YOU MUST BROKER A PEACE THAT CAN LAST AMONG THE MUSONUSI."
Swani gasps, and looks at his older guard companion. "Sir? What will we tell the King and Queen?" The older guard sighs. "The truth, Swani. We need to stop the bloodshed that has been happening for generations."
The two guards turn to the door. But the older one stops. "You.", he says, pointing at me. "Yes?", I ask, wondering what he might say to me. "You and your friend need to come with us. You brought The Bird Crasher here, so it is fitting for you to accompany us."
I nod. "Very well then. As long as no harm will come of this, I will help bring peace between my race and his." I point to Grygore's corpse, to emphasize my point. He bows his head.
"You are wise beyond your years, younglie." He motions forward. "Come, let us go before the Great Wishu King of the Hild Dynasty." I nod, and we follow them inside. They walk alongside us, weapons outstretched.
I look around, the walls are lined with gold filings. The walls are brick, with tapestries of battles and famous Myosan events throughout our history. The floor is lined with a red carpet, with wood tiling underneath.
We walk past many rooms, with large, dark brown wooden doors. I look up at the ceiling that is domed, going at least 10 feet up, and I see that it is covered in paintings of previous kings and queens, and of great battles. Many of the battles depict the Farthox being on the front lines.
We reach a set of doors also the same dark wood, but upon closer inspection, it has engravings. The guards knock, and the doors open. "Stay here for a minute, youngies.", says the older guard, who on our way here had told us his name is Ryte.
We bow, and Ryte and Swani walk inside, closing the large doors behind us. Ross sighs. "Bellatryx?", he asks, as he leans against the wall. "Yes?", I say, walking over to him. "What if this treaty thing doesn't work?"
I sigh. Then this world will be a battle ground... "I suppose the Royal Guard and the King are aware of this situation, so we have done our part?" I shrug, not knowing what else to say. He nods.
"For everyone's sake, I hope this works." I nod. "Yeah, I hope with the Farthox power, someone will work this out." He chews his lip, nodding. I lean against the wall next to him, and he smiles.
It's nice to know that I'm on friendly terms with Ross again. I didn't realize how much I need his support. Honestly it is a miracle I'm even alive, let alone able to function rather normally, (minus the broken arm of course).
We lean up against the wall in a comfortable silence. After a short wait, the doors open, and Ryte walks out, with Swani following close behind him. Ryte turns to us, and bows. "The King will see you two now."
Swani nods. "May the Farthox give you strength, and our race peace. The Musonusi Queen is willing to hear our side, please be mindful of their ways, and respect them." I bow, and sigh. "I will do whatever is willed by the Great Farthos."
