Inhaling the new air, it was.. refreshing. The ocean scent had calmed me just a bit, atleast just enough to keep my thoughts in check. Looking around, the coast seemed clear for now, so I steadily went to start my journey to a safer place. Holding the sword tightly gave me a sense of security and granted me confidence that I WON'T die. Holding onto the feeling, I marched my way and had a difficult walking course to take. I managed to jump onto one of the sunken buildings, and climbed up another, eventually reaching a road where peace had ended.

The strange robots have looked like they taken over the place, which scared me senseless. Still.. I pulled my sword out, and mentally prepared myself. So far, everything's alright- I haven't been attacked nor noticed, so I hope I'm able to keep this up as long as I can. Just as I was confident of this, I suddenly saw one of their eyes go red, and started to charge at me. As much as I prepared myself, I was.. petrified. All I could do was stand there, embracing my sword, terrified, as it came closer and closer. Why can't I move?

Pathetic. As always. I want to.. fight, so why.. can't I? It's closer. Please, move I.. I don't want to die. My body managed to take a step, but it ended up making me collapse, helpless on my legs. I winced, as the concrete had scraped my knees, which made the possibility of getting up even closer to impossible. It's even closer now. "I... I don't... I don't want to go like this.. Someone.. help.. please..", I nearly passed out muttering these words, but anxiety kept me awake. My mind couldn't process anything, so no actions were executed.. perfect.

The robot had been standing right infront of me, ready to charge, and I held my weapon tightly to my chest. This.. I couldn't embrace this- I couldn't accept death. Not whenever I have none of my memories. Here I was, about to have the last breath. Inhaling, all I could do was.. stare. Just as it began it's attack, it suddenly.. broke in half. "Hu.. Huh?", my eyes widened, fixating on what seems to be a girl with white hair in black clothing. Before I could even get a small look at her face, she was off obliterating all of them.

I stared in awe, seeing how graceful she did everything. It was.. amazing. My body softened, letting my shoulders come down a bit. After she was done, she didn't even stop when she walked pass me. So I shouted, "Miss!" It got her attention, so she turned around. "Erm.. this is a bit awkward- but uhm.. can you tell me where I am, and well, what's going on?", I said, with a bit of an unsure tone. Her face couldn't be seen, but I could tell there was annoyance arising in her. I didn't know what to do, so I tried to explain my situation.

"Y-You see .. I woke up in a laboratory or something, and now I have amnesia. I have no idea what's going on, and I really need so-" "I'm a bit busy, so go ask someone else.", she cut me off. Damn, cold. That didn't discourage me, though, "You saved my life. You don't have to do anything- so maybe I can be support for you or atleast be able to walk with you could help out with my memories. Please, miss, I.. don't know what else to do." The girl turned around and paused, considering what she should do.

"What.. are you?", she asks. Confused, I responded, "Um.. a human??" She scoffed, taking it as some sort of joke, so she asked her "Pod" to run a scan on me. Why did she not believe I was human? Isn't she one herself? The floating robot confirmed my species of human, and the woman seemed fairly shocked, but immediately wiped it off. "...Just don't fall behind.", she said emotionlessly. My mouth formed into a smile, and I immediately jumped up and walked towards her, "Thank you so much.. by the way, my name is Gardenia."

She muttered, repeating my name, and then  spoke, "I'm.." Pausing, she seemed to have had to think of what to say, "2B. YoRHa Unit." As we started walking, I asked what that was, and she told me to stop asking questions. That didn't really stop me though, I was so curious about everything, and there was too much to learn. "Oh, yeah, so are you some type of robot? You look human, so android?", I questioned. She quickly replied, "Yeah."  I could tell she was annoyed, but.. it was kind of funny. Of course, after seeing her fight, I didn't step over my bar.

As we entered the sewers, the darkness irked me a bit, so I inched closer towards 2B- of course, respecting personal space as well. Fear resonated within me, which she could probably feel. The sewage area was short, and we quickly made it to another city-... another city full of ruin. Confusion took over my mind, having so many questions, but yet limiting my words to so short, "What.. happened?" "I can explain later. We need to get to the resistance camp.", she immediately responded. Since I didn't want to feel even more dumb, I just followed her and didn't even question what the Resistance Camp is.

Through the city, there were some of those machines scattered around- none of them saw us, shockingly. It's as if 2B had formulated a route to do so.. which she probably did. The presence of them still made my anxiety rise; they could kill me at any moment. Now that I think about it... same could go for the android right in front of me. I gulped, but decided to forget and trust her. There's no way I'd be here if she didn't save me- besides, she has no motive to kill me either way.. right?

Without noticing, I bumped into 2B- not noticing she even stopped. Panicking, I let out, "I'm sorry! I wasn't paying attention and I-" She continued walking, "It's fine." Huh.. she really is one to just get down to it. Upon following her, I looked around to see we we entered some sort of camp. "So is this the Resistance Camp?", I questioned out loud. She affirmed and went to talk to someone, who from listening seems to be named Anemone. The mature voice let out, "Oh yeah, your new partner should be arriving in the city soon. You should probably head to the marked place on the map." "Will do.", she made her way out of the place, and just as I was about to follow her, Anemone spoke to me.

"You're Gardenia, right?", I turned around, "2B told me to watch over you for the time being. She's setting off on a dangerous mission and there's barely any chance for you to survive through it." "Oh..", I let out a bit disappointed, but I understood. I was petrified upon trying to fight the machine earlier- I can't hold her back. Anemone detected this, and changed the topic, "I'm Anemone. I'm the leader of this camp, and if you need any help, just come to me or ask people around."

Faintly smiling, I responded, "As you know, I'm Gardenia. Heh, we both have flower names.." She grinned a bit, "I suppose that's true." We chatted for a good amount of time, and I feel like we've really come to know eachother for such a sudden meeting. Though, I was still confused about my situation- though, I also wondered if this was all better left unknown. My time at the Resistance Camp was mentally torturing choosing between asking the situation and not.. I'll find out eventually, probably.
