two; traitorous intentions

"How dare you believe that you would be able to use me? You preach about saving me yet you were willing to sacrifice me?"

Asedoneous frowns his eyes containing sadness at the sight of Jamari surrounded by various vampires. "I'm sorry my child."

She glares at the man she once considered a savior. "No, you no longer have the right to refer to me as your child."

"It is for the best."

She scoffs her dark brown eyes scanning the threats surrounding her.

"You believe this is for the best? Sacrificing me?"

"Better you die than I."

"You sound just like Katerina." She spits her tone laced with venom.

"Niklaus wanted the moonstone and I wanted guaranteed survival. And since you aren't going to help me get it I have to take matters into my own hands. "

"Once Niklaus has the moonstone he is going to slaughter you, and you better pray to the heavens that he catches you first because Niklaus murdering you will be an act of mercy compared to what I will do."

Asedoneous laughs the sound reverberating off of the trees and echoing through the night.

"And what will you do Jamari?"

"I will strike you down with the might of the lord."

"You did always let your faith blind you to the bigger picture Jamari."

"May the Lord have mercy upon your soul because I sure as hell won't."

"You do not frighten me Jamari. You can recite all of the bible scriptures you want, it won't change the fact that Klaus is going to get the moonstone and I am now free from his debt."

Narrowing her eyes she speaks.

"Underestimating the scorn of a woman's fury will be your last mistake Asedonous."

"It's too bad that you weren't willing to work with me, Niklaus always did have a soft spot for you."

Taking a step back Asedonous raises his hand. "Goodbye Jamari."

"Kill her." And with a fluid hand motion the vampires surrounding the immortal attack.

Quickly grabbing the wooden stake from her boot Jamari clutches in her grip.

Swinging her arm back she impales one of her attackers in the neck, the sound of blood gurgling and flesh succumbing to external pressure fueling her fight.

Swinging her leg around the neck of another vampire she wraps her right leg around the neck and her left around the shoulder before wrapping her hand around their neck and twisting harshly.

The harsh sound of bone cracking resonates through the air and Jamari tumbles to the ground along with the unconscious vampire.

Standing slowly she eyes the other two vampires.

Clutching the stake she swings it to her right but misses and falls to the ground at the sudden force pushing her forward.

Gasping at the wind getting knocked out of her she wheezes slightly.

Standing she narrows her eyes hurling the stake at a rapid speed, impaling the vampire in front of her Jamari spins around grabbing the dagger from her boot.

The vampire vamp speeds towards her before kicking her into a nearby tree.

Crying out at the force Jamari groans at the pain flaring within her abdomen.

Standing shakily she grips the dagger tighter as the vampire smirks his brown eyes tainted with hunger.

"Asedoneous said you were a fighter, but I always did like a challenge."

Cocking her head to the side. "It will be wise of you not to drink from me."

In the blink of an eye, Jamari is in the arms of the vampire his fangs lightly grazing her neck, piercing through her skin Jamari screams out at the action.

Hissing at the sudden burning spreading through his throat the vampire takes a step back, stumbling forward Jamari breathes heavily before pressing a hand upon her wound.

"What the hell?"

"I told you that it would be unwise to drink from me."

"What are you a witch?"

"No. You were all fools to think that you could kill me. I have ingested vervain every day for 250 years. When you have lived as long as I have you learn a few things every now and then."

Collapsing to the ground the vampire pants as Jamari speaks. "Take this message back to Asedoneous, thinking that I was the same naive girl that he claims to have saved a millennium ago is gone. Underestimating me was his last mistake."

⬇️

Stepping into the driver's seat of her car Jamari sighs her eyes catching her disheveled appearance in the rearview mirror. Her hand finding it's way to her now healed neck she closes her eyes exhaustion washing over her.

"Lord, please give me strength."

Starting her car Jamari pulls off into the road her neck throbbing slightly at the remaining phantom pain from her wound.

A sigh escapes her lips as her mind flashes back to a moment in her childhood.

"Momma, why must we hide? This is our land and our people. They can not come take from us as if it is theirs."

"Hush child! I know you are mad but understand, sometimes you must assimilate to survive."

"I will never, the white man has taken enough from us."

"Jamari, use that anger and change the world, be better than what I can give you."

"Momma."

"I'm sorry that I couldn't protect you my child."

"Momma."

"You weren't born to be quiet Jamari, you were born to make the world shake in your wake."

Sorry for the late update, I started college and I'm working two jobs now and it's harder to find the time to write.

Hope you enjoyed the chapter, I know it's short.
