Chapter Two: Mind Entanglement

Lyra's Point of View

Nasa plano ko sana ang puntahan ang crime scene ngayon but I changed my mind. Bukod sa wala ako sa mood, it's still too early to investigate. It's freaking 4 PM in bright daylight.

Dahil sa inis na nararamdaman ko, I decided to go home. Kailangan ko munang kalmahin ang sarili ko.

Yeah, I usually got pissed over small shitty things. I can't help it. It's just that I graduated as a detective and my pride is filled with confidence and I hate it when someone tries to degrade what I can do.

Wala pa akong tulog since the other day but I don't have time to rest. I need to impress that old man. He'll see what I've got.

I immediately sat in front of the device right after. I took a sip of my coffee to awaken my body. Mabigat na rin kasi ang talukap ng mata ko but as I have said, I have no time to rest.

Nang makailang lagok ako ng kape, I felt my senses back. I opened my PC and immediately started the investigation.

I visited the official page of Alonzo-Young Airlines and as expected, there were lots of photos, articles, videos and reports about the death of Mr. Young. He was well-known in the Philippines, I have no doubt if this case is heard everywhere.

Nagbasa-basa lang ako ng ilang articles. I have completely no idea kung anong nangyari. Mapapabilis sana kung pupunta na ako ngayon sa AY Airlines to check the crime scene, but it's still daytime. Malamang may nagaganap na press doon and newscasters from TV Stations are interrogating everyone that knows something about the case.

Wala nang masyadong tao sa kahit saan and I can freely investigate.

While random thoughts are continuously popping on my head, napag-alaman ko na pinatay ang biktima by means of a gun. Hindi ko alam kung anong klase ng baril, and that's what I need to find out.

I scrolled down the screen at may isang vivid photo ng crime scene, with Mr. Young lying on the floor. Blood stains were on his chest area but there were bruises, cuts and wounds on his face.

My forehead knotted in confusion. Maybe he is beaten before he is killed?

I just shrugged the thought off first at nagpatuloy sa pagbabasa at pagre-research.

Thoughts are rushing inside my brain cells kaya sumasakit ang ulo ko. I often feel this way lalo na kapag nag-iimbestiga ako ng kaso, kaya hindi na ito bago pa sakin.

After few moments, napamulat ako bigla at napangiti sa sarili ko. Bingo!

I reached for my phone inside my pocket and quickly dialled a number.

Good thing I have an enhanced photographic memory. The series of numbers are all in my head. Yeah, I remember the contact numbers of all my acquaintances. Not all, yun lang madalas kong tawagan.

I dialled Dessa's number. Keila Andessa Tuazon is a good friend of mine. She is a biologist and she works at Pattinson Medical Center.
