Chapter Three: Case Trial 1

Lyra's Point of View

"What can we do for you, Ma'am, Sir?" As expected, the security level increased.

Kinapa ko ang side pocket sa loob ng cardigan ko to show my license. "I am Detective Mendoza from Monteverde Law Firm." Pormal na pakilala ko sa sarili.

Sumunod namang naglabas ng ID si Amparo. He did not even bother to speak for himself. So typical of him. That's his way of introduction para magmukha syang astig, tss.

Napatango naman ang security guard. By one glance, I saw his name on the right side of his chest. Byron Gaviño.

Ngumiti sya ng bahagya samin, a pressured one.  "T-This way po."

I just formally smiled at him before proceeding inside. Since nakita ko na ang map ng buong Corporation kanina while researching on my PC, I'm already familiar with the places at kung nasaan mismo ang office ng biktima.

"Do you happen to have a map or something?" I heard Amparo asked. I kept on walking. "Mr. Young's office is on the second floor. We need to use the elevator there."

Maybe he understood that I know where we are heading.

We entered the elevator at wala pang isang minuto ay nakarating na kami sa second floor. We didn't exchanged words until we found the office.

"Quite easier than I expected." That confident statement obviously came from the conceited lawyer standing beside me.

"Let's start." I declared at nagpamaunang pasukin ang crime scene.

Nilibot ko ang paningin sa loob. There is nothing unusual sa arrangement at sa itsura, except for some blood stains on the tiled floor.

The blood stain was near the CEO's table. From my view, I think the distance is about a meter.

Hindi rin ganoon kadami ang blood stains but since the floor is colored in pure white, madali kong napansin ito.

Ilang minuto na akong naglilibot. I even try looking underneath the tables, sofa and cabinets inside but I can't find any traces.

Maybe it was a set-up? Or planned?

"Maybe the killing was planned? I glanced at my watch. 12:47 am.

Instead, he just sighed and changed the topic. "We need the autopsy results as early as possible." He stated. Ako naman ang napabuntong-hininga.

"I can't give you a certain date." I honestly said. Sandali kaming natahimik bago sya nagsalitang muli. "Judge Hector told me that the trial will be held in three days time." Balita nito na ikinagulat ko, though I managed not to exclaim.
