It was the week before Halloween and every Sunday my family and I would get together at my aunt's house for pumpkin carving. This year will be the first time our daughter will be coming. Nova is almost 1 now. She looks exactly like Austin to me. Same dark brown hair and big brown eyes.
We made it to my aunt's house and was greeted with hugs. Everyone was all over Nova. She was the cutest little girl ever. She is so good for her age. She can talk a little bit and she started walking a little too. She can make out some words like mama and dada. She loves to say meow because of Alan.
Nova and I were sitting on the ground looking at the pumpkin stencils. She of course pointed to the cat. As Austin and I took out the guts of the pumpkin, I looked over to Nova who had pumpkin guts in her hair. I started laughing while Austin took a picture. I took the pumpkin guts out of her hair and kissed her cheek.
While everyone finished on their pumpkins, I caught up with my family. With me and Austin living in California and them living in Pennsylvania it's hard to check up with them. But I always go over there when Austin plays near Pennsylvania. My cousin graduated from colleges. One of my younger cousin's started high school and one went to elementary school. I love whenever I meet up with my family. It's like I've never moved.
As the day was coming to an end we ended up with a cat pumpkin, a pumpkin with an OM&M logo and a Michael Myers pumpkin. It was an amazing time with my family. Seeing my cousins, aunts, and uncles. I think Nova had the best time. Her head is on my shoulder, probably falling asleep. I have the best husband, the best daughter, and the best life.
