Run Laurie! Go!!
Audrey he's right behind you!
Heeeelp! Somebody heeelp me! Please!
"Somebody please! Help me!" Her hails synced so equally with the voices plundering in my skull.
"Audrey! Let's go! Please he's going to get us!" I could feel tugging on my jacket sleeve.
"Laurie?" I mumble confused staring blankly into nothing.
"Audrey! He's coming closer!" I blink hard.
"Audreyyyyy!" The smaller presence behind me dashed away.
A hand reaches right for me. I lurch around following Jamie. Her costume far off down the street. I put all the strength in my legs galloping swiftly down the sidewalk. I couldn't understand why I kept running even though the voice in my head said he wouldn't harm me. Common sense told me that you run away from something harmful to begin with.
My line of sight funnels into smog, I was becoming someone I didn't know. Someone I couldn't trust. But someone that was me. I knew within myself that I was there witnessing the faces I didn't recognize entirely. Witnessing their unfair ends. It shook a core that was an adhesive keeping all of this ugliness away.
I was running aimlessly down the streets until my throat began to burn. I ignored it pushing harder down the road, I pushed as long as I could until I realized I was lost. Once I realized I was lost I slowed down. The burning only continued to sear down to my lungs. I swiftly thought I had to work on my cardio then stopped running all together. I bent over leaning my hands on my knees breathing hard. A drop of sweat falls off my forehead, I looked at where it landed distracting me.
Suddenly a huge shatter of glass echoes to my left down the street. Followed by an alarm, it was a gun shot.Jamie.
I jog over just seeing a slight view of a trench coat disappear inside school doors. I follow in with the alarms blaring for a light second in my ears as I passed. Jamie and whoever she was with wasn't in sight so I wondered down a hall until I came to a cross way. I turn my head seeing the same old man from earlier with Jamie.
"Jamie." I whisper call.
She turns with the old man smiling to see I was still alive.
"Audrey." She comes to me but was grabbed instantly by the old man. Her smile was replaced with confusion.
"Stay back!" The old man aimed his gun at me.
In a instant I raise my hands confused. I showed I was clearly unaware of anything the man may accuse me of.
"W-what?"
"Stay back, it's not safe to be around you." He sneers.
"Around me? What do you mean?" I recited still so confused.
"He's here for her but he's mainly here for you." He keeps the gun aimed at me.
"Me? What the hell are you on about? I don't even know you."
"Don't play dumb! You're only helping him like you did that night ten years ago!" He jerks the gun forward giving it emphasis.
"...what are you talking about?" I took a step back afraid for my safety again. He notices my sincere confusion but doesn't lower the gun.
"The shocks.. worked?"
"Audrey behind you!" Jamie yells over the man's arm.
As I reacted a gun shot fires past me. Missing me and whoever was behind me, straight through a class door window. I bend down in instinct but bend back up fast.
"Run Jamie!" I cry.
A huge shadow mass passes me heading towards the old man. I take the opportunity to run around to get to Jamie or to at least follow her. She began heading to stairs and I followed. I hear the old man struggled with most likely our previous killer. I didn't want to waste the energy to turn and look.
"Jamie keep going and don't stop!" I run down the stairs with her.
She screams clearly frightened. I understood her fear, she was too young to be going through this kind of trauma. But I knew it was just a beacon for the killer to follow us.
"Stop screaming he'll find us easier that way!" Once she stopped, it was just our steps echoing.
Then I was startled by the door slamming open from where we were. I lose my footing on the stairs going down. I topple elbow first, my body hitting every step hard. Rolling the rest of the way down. I yell in pain slamming to the platform hard. I stood still feeling as though the air was knocked out my lungs. My labored breathing stopped Jamie as she reached the door in front of me. She turns to see the predicament I was in.
"Audrey.."
"Go! Nnn- G-get out of here! Now!" I push myself off the ground waist up. I was in pain.
Jamie obeyed taking off. I heard her small cries before the door clicks shut. I felt a wave of relief splash over me, she was safe in a sense. Now concerned for my own safety, I slowly inch to the door as well. My stomach felt a pain of shock each time my arms pull my weight forward. It felt like I bellyflopped into a pool.
Next thing I felt was large, rough hands under my pits. Hoisting me up to my feet almost gently, I was still afraid. I glance over my shoulder to see the mask. Immediately I try to take off but the pain was still fainting in my stomach. I became pressed to the wall in order not to fall."No! Stay back!" I order blindly behind me. The killer didn't listen his bold steps come closer.
His scarred hand takes a hold of my right hand. It was over my head keeping me up, now it was stuck there. I try to jerk it away but he was too strong. I twist around to face him.
"What do you want?!" I growl fearfully.
No answer, no movement. My struggling to break free stutters from confusion. Now it turns into enchantment.
"Why are you doing this?" I whisper softly.
No answer, but his other hand reaches for my face. I gasp turning away flinching. His thumb rubs over my right cheek tenderly. My chest heavies really hard. I couldn't look back, afraid of what will happen.
"Who are you? Please just don't hurt me."
I believe it angered him because his grip tightened on my trapped hand. It pinched me painfully so I whimper jerking my head up. As soon as I did that he loosens his grip almost fearfully. Keeping his gaze onto me like a trap. His actions only bewildered me, I didn't understand. At the same time I did, remembering the voice saying he won't hurt me. But who is he?!
"Who are you?" I gather the courage to look up at him.
As our eyes met there was a pause. Something in his dark abyss eyes lightened. Sparking some life into him as it seemed to be. Something in me sparked again the yearning, the need, the love..it was all pushing as hard as it could to get out.
He continued massaging the side of my face before I could tell. He was leaning closer. That made my guard come back up. I tensed up almost trying to back more into the wall. Another part of me wanted to lean closer. I was too afraid to even think if he really was going to kiss me.
The breathing under the mask felt to be the loudest thing in the stairwell. He was just coming closer ever so slightly, I could feel my eyes shutting."M-."
In that very instant the door beside us swings open! Our heads turn to see Rachel spewing fire extinguisher over us. Fogging the area as a cloud in front of the sun. The killer lets go of me all together but I didn't run. I felt to be stuck, tobwant to be near him. Until I felt Rachel grab my arm pulling me through the cloudy chemicals, to a clear hall. Jamie was at the end waiting for us anxiously.
"We have to get out of here." Rachel states.
