First Day of Hell

Dear Diary,
Today is the first day of  Sophomore Year! Omg, I'm going to die. Over summer, a lot has changed. Like Payton. You know my next door neighbor, yeah well we are dating now. I know it's crazy, we've known each other since we were 3. Wow! It's been so long. Okay well, 1 month ago, Payton came over because my brother, Dylan, was going to help him on his basketball skills. Long story short, Payton and I ended up kissing and well we found out we liked each other. Oh and WE GOT A DOG!! It's a little shih tzu but, don't worry it does not have long hair. It is a cute little puppy cut. OMG I LOVE HER!! We named her Roxy. She is so cuddly but, there are times when she can bite you in the face. Well, it's time for school. I'll keep you updated

Mabel is a 16 year old girl, who isn't the best socializer. Mabel is 5'8 , which sets her out of the other girls. Mabel has naturally long, wavy, brown hair. Her hair naturally falls down the middle. Mabel is a very insecure girl because of her childhood. When Mabel was around 4 years old, her mother was diagnosed with Stage 3 brain cancer. Since Mabel was so young, she didn't quite understand it. All she understood was that mommy might need to leave. After 5 long and tough years her mother beat cancer. Her whole family was over joyed to find out the news. Because of this Mabel grew up to be a 'mother hen' which made her more protective than other kids. At the same time, how do you explain to your 8 and 9 year old friends that your mom almost died? Mabel never really talked about it but, when she would her friends would ignore her. Thus being the start of Mabel's shyness. While Mabel was still young, she was told that being shy was weird, which is where her insecurities came from. Dylan on the other hand, didn't really become phased. He lived his life as if nothing happened. Their family believed that was his coping method incase his mother did pass away. Dylan understood things a little better because he is 2 years older than Mabel. Mabel doesn't have many friends so she mainly talks to Payton's friends. Payton is a golfer, I know kinda different but cool. Payton talks to Mabel a lot, like I mean a lot. He is the jealous type, for sure. Mabel really does love him but, Payton isn't so sure about Mabel. Dylan has been trying to get Payton to make a move on Mabel for the longest time. Finally, Payton gave in and went for it. At first, he really did like Mabel but, then he saw all her problems. Mabel struggles from depression and anxiety, which Payton has sort of helped her with. Payton saw that Mabel was a lot of work but, he realized if he broke up with her, she would maybe go "insane". He decided he would just lie to her until he thought she was stable enough.

Hey loves, sorry the story is so short, it's 3am where I am so I need sleep. This story will be a little different. This story will have struggles with depression and anxiety. When Payton, says things that make it seem that people with anxiety and depression are weird or different, that is the character. I am someone who struggles with these things as well and I fully understand it, so please do not take offense to anything. Also if any of you need to talk, I am always here💛
