     ------------------------------

Jean, Amanda and Ray finally escaped the harsh forest and reached the plains just a few meter from it. They decided to spend the night there after the tiring day. It would be troublesome if they continue to walk past nighttime in an unnatural habitat for them, but natural ones for the predators.

"Jean, would Tony be safe?" Amanda asked.

"I'm afraid if he was hurt and unable to find shelter in the storm," she added while pointing to the storm clouds near the hill ahead.

"I don't know Amanda. We can only hope for the best of him in this kind of situation," Ray replied.

"You guys don't have to be so worried, okay? We all know who we are talking about right? It's Tony guys! Of course he would be fine. I mean he is good in sports, a scout and also a handsome one," Jean tried to loosen up the mood a bit.

"Handsome? What does that has to do with survivability Jean. Hahaha it's weird," Amanda finally smiled a bit.

"Yeah right, Jean. What's he gonna do? Flirt the bears and tigers from eating him?" Ray suddenly burst into laughter.

After seeing Ray, Jean and Amanda couldn't control it and joined him. The night went nicely for them. The sky was full of stars, unobscured by clouds or blurred by other light source.

All had one question in mind. Where is Tony? Deep inside they realize that what Ray said wasn't a laughing matter. It could mean life or death for Tony if he met bears or tigers, wherever he is right now.

"You know what? How about we find some firewoods to make a campfire here?" Ray gave an idea.

"That's great," Amanda agreed to Ray's idea. Even though she couldn't care much about it.

"Okay then," Ray stood up and went into the forest.

"Why don't you said anything just now?"

"I don't wanna say anything useless right now,"

"What do you mean?"

"Nothing. By the way, how were you and Tony? Did something good happened beforehand?"

"Nothing.  He  just  like  his  usual  self.  Dense  as  always,"  Amanda  felt  irritated.

"Well  I  can't  do  anything  about  that,"

"I  know.  I  just  feel  if  only  he  acknowledged  it,  it  would  be  better,"

"Hey,  what're  you  two  talking  about?"  Ray  appeared  of  out  nowhere.

"Nothing  worth  your  time,"  Amanda  said.

"Then,  help  me  start  up  the  campfire.  We  need  light  and  heat  as  soon  as  possible,"  Ray  gave  an  order  to  them.

Jean  and  Amanda  helped  Ray  started  the  fire  for  the  night.  As  soon  as  it's  light  up,  Ray  laid  on  the  grass  and  fell  asleep  in  seconds.  Amanda  who  was  also  tired  because  of  the  commotion  earlier  quickly  became  victim  of  the  Sandman's  power.  Jean  followed  them  after  walking  around  a  bit.  The  night  went  away  soundly.

The storm finally lifted up the next morning. The warmth of the sun reached my body, waking me up in the process. The sound of birds chirping and leaves rustling make me forget about the problems I faced since yesterday. If only the weather would be nice yesterday as it is today, nothing bad would happen to us. I wonder what happened to the others. The weather showed that today would be a full moon

I  should  find  water  source  quickly  to  make  it  easier  after  this.  There  should  be  river  around  here.  Firstly,  I  need  to  mark this  cave  in  case  I  need  to  return  here.  The  burned  tree  on  the  hill  at  north,  that's  good  enough,  the  hill  was  pretty  high.  I  just  need  to  find  it  next  time.  So  for  the  water part,  I  saw  a  flock  of  birds  fly  to  the  south  from  here,  but  I  need  other  clue.  I  must  find  animals'  trace  nearby,  because  they  will always  went  to  the  lake  or  river  during  this  period.  Another  note  to  remember,  the  streams  and  rivers  flow  downhill  so,  better  go  downward.

I  walked  and  walked  without  any  guidance  except  for  the  ones  I  already  thought.  Well,  I  walked  a  good  distance  right  now,  probably  1  mile  already.  Let's  see  if  I  could  hear  the  sound  of  it.  There!  At  my  right!  I  just  need...

"Fuck,"  the  word  blurted  out.

A  brown  bear  was  standing  right  across  myself,  about  300  metres  away,  too  close  I  would  say.  I  need  to  get  away  fast  before  it  noticed  me...

"RROOARRRR" the  bear  growled.

"SHITT!"  my  body  automatically  turns  to  the  opposite  direction  and  my  feet  started  running  on  impulse.

The  bear  was  chasing  me  at  an incredible  speed.  The  look  on  its  predator  eyes  fiercely  trying  to  eat  me,  the  sound  of  its  feet  smashing  the  ground  strongly  as  if  an  earthquake,  the  massive  jaw  of  a  colossal  animal  filled  with  saliva  and  razor  sharp  teeth,  and  the  sound  of  its  mighty  growl.  All  of  it  was..  intense.

I  never  run  so  fast  that  my  heart  felt  like  wanna  explode  because  of  the  adrenaline  rush  telling  it  to  pump  more  and  more  blood  throughout  the  my  body.  I  tried  using  the  nature's  obstacles  such  as  fallen  trunk  and  rocks,  but  to  no  avail.  The  bear  smashed  through  all  of  those  like  it  was  nothing.  I  never  seen  this  kind  of  bear,  if  I  had  ever  saw  one  at  least.

As  a  result,  my  left  leg  tripped  on  the  tree's  roots  and  I  fell  face  first  on  the  ground.  When  I  turned  around  the  bear  sprung  on  me,  fortunately  a  huge  trunk  is  on  top  of me,  became  the  line  between life  and  death.  I  grabbed  a  sharp  rock near  me  and  stabbed  the  bear  causing  it  to  scream  in  pain.  I  took  the  chance  to  run  away.

Only  after  I  felt  like  I  have  escaped  the  jaw  of  death,  a  grey  wolf  appeared  in front  of  me.

What  the  hell?  Are  you  kidding  me?  A  wolf  now  all  of  a  sudden?  Relax,  it's  just  a  little  lonely  wolf.  I  can  handle  it.  Your  grumble  wouldn't  scare  me.  Wait  a  minute.  Isn't  grey  wolf  moves  and  hunts  in  pack?  Above  all,  the  time  and  weather  today  is  afternoon  and  pretty..  warm.  Thus,  I  may  be  in  danger  this  moment.

Then,  the  wolf  howled,  which  means  a  very  bad  thing.  A  pack  of  wolf  appeared  behind  it,  more  then  a  half  dozen  to  be  exact.

Dammit!  Why  would  these  kind  of  things  happen?  How  should  I  get  away  with  this?  I  suddenly  heard  a  familiar  growl  coming  from  behind.  Okay,  now  I'm  a dead  meat.  I  stood  there,  trembling  in  fears,  scared  of  something  that  will  happen  soon.  I'm  now  in  the  middle  of  two  high  ranking  animals  on  the  food  chain;  apex  predators.  Either  I  die  by  one  of  them,  or  they just  attack  each  other.
