Chapter 4: Hero Or Menace?

        Getting his super suit really helped Izuku train with his quirk. Even though he trained in a place where people were focused more on not getting mugged and less on a middle schooler that is harmlessly using his quirk, but he didn't want to risk someone taking a picture of him using his quirk and end up getting in trouble for it. He understood why the government made quirk laws so strict but at the same time, Izuku had wished the government wasn't so strict with their laws on quirks. Ever since he got his costume Izuku would always wear his bunny mask and covered his mouth with his respirator so no one could get a picture of his face, though to be honest he truly feared the day someone took a picture of him and see his picture in the paper where the headlines would read "The Spectacular Spider/Bunny Man Arrives." Izuku shook off those thoughts as he began to work on using two new abilities he discovered. The first ability was super human speed, he wasn't really planning on using it to run around the city since he could easily web swing, but it did give him a chance to come up with a new move he documented in his notebook as "Accelerated Decoy." Theoretically, he could move fast enough to make a body double, but he never really moved fast to do so because he never had enough stamina. To fix this problem Izuku had started going jogging on the mornings before he trained his quirk. 

         The second ability he discovered he documented in his notebook as "Accelerated Vision." Accelerated Vision allowed him to see things slower than the human eye so he was able to sense attacks faster than the human eye. Izuku had discovered this new power when he was playing a game of dodgeball at school, needless to say he had won that game and ended up sending half his class to the nurses office... ironically that was a good day for him. It was hard to try and use Accelerated Vision for training purposes when there was no one trying to attack him, "Maybe I should tell Kacchan about my quirk, it could really help my training if I had a sparring partner", Izuku thought aloud. As Izuku got his backpack so he could find someplace to change he heard a loud feminine scream coming from far away. "Someone's in trouble, I can't just sit around and do nothing, but at the same time I can't do anything without getting caught", Izuku argued to himself. The screams started getting louder and louder to the point where Izuku couldn't take it anymore, "Screw it, I can't just have these powers and not do anything, with great powers comes great responsibility. Time for Spider-Man to make his debut to the world!", Izuku announced as he started web swinging towards the screaming. 

            Ochako Uraraka was a bubbly fourteen year old girl who, despite having a hard life filled with poverty, she always kept her head up and focused on the positives. Although, today was really hard to feel happy or cheerful when she was being dragged into the alleyway by four masked thugs (though to be honest, in the neighborhood that she was living in she was surprised something like this hasn't happened before). She had started screaming even though she knew that it was pointless and no one was going to come and save her. One of the thugs lifted up his mask a bit, grabbed Ochako by her chin, and smiled at her creepily, "Well little girl, you're probably wondering why we brought you here, am I right?" Ochako nodded nervously at the thug, hoping they weren't going to do what shethought they were going to do. The thug laughed creepily, "Well, a pretty girl like you should be shared with deserving men like us, don't you agree boys?" The other thugs had nodded in agreement before surrounding Ochako, getting ready to pounce on her as if they were predators and she was their prey. The main thug took off her sweater as the other thugs held her down. Before they could continue they had heard a thumping sound from behind them, the thugs turned around to see someone wearing a red and blue jumpsuit with a bunny mask and a respirator on all fours. "Note to self: work on your landings", Spider-Man  muttered to himself.

               Spider-Man stood up and turned his attention to the thugs, "Hey is this a nerd's costume party, why wasn't I invited, I'm usually the life of these types of parties", he quipped. The thugs and Ochako looked at him, astonished that some weirdo with a rabbit mask was making jokes at the scene in front of him. "Wow, we nerds have really gotten better at throwing parties, usually only two people show up to our parties, but here you guys are with four people, one of which is a girl." The thugs and Ochako stared blankly at Spider-Man, they couldn't see it, but under his mask he was nervous, 'Note to self: next time make better quips', he mentally noted. Izuku looked at the thugs and cracked his knuckles, "Okay boys, I think this costume party has gone on long enough, hand over the girl nice and calm, and no one gets hurt." The main thug smiled and activated his quirk, which seemed to be pyrokinesis, "Please, you think that a little kid like you is going to scare u-", before he could finish, Spider-Man webbed his mouth shut. "Dude, keep it simple, you either say no and attack me, or you just attack me", he told the masked criminal. Spider-Man then shot two web lines onto the two separate walls, slingshoted himself towards the thug with pyrokinesis, and punched him hard across the face, knocking him out in the process. His Spider-Sense alerted him to an attack coming from behind him, so he did a backflip and stuck onto one of the walls of the alleyway

               The thugs were shocked by Spider-Man sticking to the wall, "W-w-what are you, some kind of freak?!", one of the thugs asked. Izuku laughed at the thug's question, "Hey, it's just my quirk, this can't be the first time you've seen something weird like this. Also, I'm not a what, I'm a who, I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man", he announced as he jumped off the wall and started webbing up the thugs mid-air. As Izuku landed back on the floor he saw that all the thugs had been immobilized and the girl was safe. Izuku turned his attention to his the webbed up thugs, "Don't worry, I'll make sure the police will get you out of those webs in no time." Spider-Man then turned to the girl, "Hey are you okay, did they hurt you?", he asked. "Yeah I'm fine, but why do you look like someone from 'The Purge?'", Ochako asked. Even though she couldn't see it, Izuku deadpanned from her question, 'Final note to self: work on a new hero costume that doesn't have a respirator and also has a mask that doesn't look ridiculous', he mentally noted. "Are you actually making fun of the way my costume looks after I saved your life?!", Spider-Man asked a little annoyed. Ochako shook her head no, "No, that's not what I was doing at all, I'm sorry for hurting your feelings, I think it looks kind of cute to be honest", she admitted. 

                Izuku was blushing, and for once he was glad that he had his respirator and mask, "T-t-t-thank y-y-you." Ochako chuckled at her savior's sudden nervousness, "I should be thanking you, you're the one who saved me, I really appreciate what you did for me Spider-Man." Ochako then started to try and take off his mask, but he grabbed her hand to stop her. "Woah, woah, woah, what do you think you're doing?", Spider-Man asked trying to sound as not rude as possible. Ochako looked at her hero with guilt, "Oh, I'm sorry, I should have just asked you first, I wanted to see the face of the person who saved me, that's all." Spider-Man thought for a second before we webbed up the thug's eyes and ears, and went back to Ochako, "Do you swear to never tell anyone how I look like?" "I promise!", Ochako exclaimed. He sighed as he took off his mask and respirator and looked Ochako right in her eyes, "So, how do I look?" Ochako marveled at her hero, "Wow, you look..." "Plain looking? Yeah, I get that a lot", Izuku chuckled as he interrupted Ochako. Ochako shook her head, "No, you look cute, I thought you were going to be an adult, but you're a middle schooler like me, and a cute one as well." Izuku blushed from Ochako's statement, "EH?!" Ochako laughed at Izuku's blush, and out of nowhere she pulled Izuku into a kiss. Izuku was shocked, but he decided that since it was his first kiss, he might as well sink into it. After a minute of kissing, Ochako pulled away and looked at Izuku with a blush and a smile, "Consider that a thank you for saving me, my name is Ochako Uraraka by the way, what's your name?" "You already know who I am, I'm your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man", Izuku announced before he put his mask and respirator back on before he started web swinging away. "I just got my first kiss from a pretty girl... I love my spider powers!", Izuku announced as he was trying to find some place to change.

               When Izuku got home, he saw that his parents were on the couch watching TV. "Hey mom and dad, what are you watching?" Hisashi turned his attention to Izuku, "Hey son, we're watching the news. Apparently, there's this vigilante that saved this girl from four thugs today, come take a look." Izuku had gotten nervous by what his father had told him, but he decided to set his book bag near the door, sit down and watch the news with his parents, and hoped that there wasn't any footage of him. "The vigilante who had saved the girl named Ochako Uraraka had called the cops, letting them know that 'their friendly neighborhood Spider-Man' had apprehended the criminals", the reporter on the TV said. Hisashi had a confused look on his face, '"Spider-Man?' Isn't that what I called you a few days ago Izuku?" Izuku chuckled nervously, "O-oh yeah, what a conicidence, am I right?" "An eyewitness had seen Spider-Man a few days prior to the incident, today they had managed to take a picture of Spider-Man on their phone, which will be displayed on the top left corner of the screen." There it was: a picture of Izuku in his Spider-Man suit while he had been web swinging right in the middle of the TV, and Hisashi was not happy. "Izuku, is that your hero costume on the TV screen, do you have a quirk?" Izuku knew he screwed up, and once again he had wished that he had a different suit so this never would have happened. 

And, that's a wrap for the fourth chapter of "Spider Deku: Unlimited", I hope you enjoyed. If you couldn't tell, I made Ochako a little out of character, for the sake of the scene, because in the movie Spider-Man kissed Mary Jane after he saved her, so I thought it'd be cool to add my own spin on it. The two new abilities I mentioned, "Accelerated Decoy" and "Accelerated Vision" is a reference to Spider-Man 2099's abilities. The next chapter will be named, "Divorce." Until next time, later! ✌️
