As morning begins, a fourteen year old middle school kid had been up passed out on the desk in his room, he wakes up feeling tired and with a pain in his neck. He looked over to the clock on the dresser near his bed, it read '6:09 AM'. "Damn, I feel so tired, maybe I should take a shower so I can feel more awake", he told himself as he headed to the bathroom. After taking a shower and brushing his teeth, he gets dressed and heads to the kitchen only to find his mom making breakfast. "Good morning mom", he tells his mom as he takes a seat at the kitchen table. "Good morning Izuku, how did you sleep?", the mother asked her kid while she cooked. "I slept okay, I guess. Though to be honest, I fell asleep while I was writing in my quirk analysis journal", Izuku admitted. Izuku's mom shook her head in disapproval and smiled, "Oh Izuku, what am I going to do with you?" Izuku shrugged his shoulders in response and smiled while his mother served him a plate of pancakes. "Thanks mom, these pancakes are great", he told her with pancakes in his mouth. "It's no problem honey, but please don't talk with your mouth full, it's rude", Izuku nodded his head in response as he continued eating.

Suddenly, Izuku's dad came out his bedroom, and sat with Izuku at the kitchen table, "Morning Izuku, morning Inko", he told his wife and kid. "Good morning dad", Izuku said with a smile on his face. "Good morning Hisashi", Inko replied. "So Izuku, are you excited to go to that quirk research lab field trip today?", Hisashi asked. Izuku's eyes lit up, "Of course I'm excited, I've been waiting for weeks to go! I'm going to take my quirk analysis journal with me, and try to get as much information as I possibly can, this is going to be a great help to my career as a hero!" Inko frowned at his son's declaration, "Izuku, don't you think that it's a little dangerous to be a hero without a quirk? I mean, there are other jobs where people can see you as a hero, you could be a fireman, policeman, or a surgeon", Inko suggested. Izuku frowned at his mother's suggestions; it was moments like these that made Izuku realize how painful it was to be a normal person in a world of extraordinary people. Hisashi gave his wife a cold glare, "Inko, let the boy have his dream, I'm pretty sure that people from his school already make him feel bad because of him wanting to be a hero, I don't think he wants his mother to make him feel bad about it too."

Izuku smiled at his father, he knew that he could always depend on his dad when it came to believe in his dream of becoming a hero. Inko returned Hisashi's cold glare, "Hisashi, I'm just making suggestions of other things he could do, excuse me for not wanting our son to have a safer job than being a hero job." Hisashi deadpanned at his wife's statement, "Oh, but running into a burning building and trying to arrest people with dangerous superpowers while you have no powers isn't as dangerous as being a hero?", he asked sarcastically. Izuku started to read the vibe the room was giving, so he decided to grab his stuff, and get ready to leave. "Bye mom, bye dad, I'll see you later", Izuku did not wait for a reply as he ran out the door. This wasn't the first time that Izuku's parents had argued with him right in the room, and if he had to guess this wasn't going to be the last time it happened either. Once he arrived at the front of the school he saw his class was waiting outside for the bus, so he went to stand with them. As Izuku waited around with his classmates he felt a hand on his shoulder, he turned around to see his friend Katsuki Bakugo. Izuku never really called him by his first name though, he always prefers to call him by his nickname, "Kacchan". Katsuki also never really called Izuku by his name, he usually called him by his nickname "Deku", which he called him out of irony since "Deku" meant useless, and he considered Izuku far from useless.

"Hey Deku, how is the design for the gauntlets of my hero costume coming along?", Katsuki asked.  Even though Izuku was quirkless, his intelligence always made up for being powerless. Izuku had taken up inventing at a young age, it came pretty easy for Izuku, sometimes it felt his smarts were better then a quirk (sometimes). "I finished designing them, I'm in the process of making them, but I'm low on funds right now. I still don't understand why you would want me to make your Grenadier Bracers, aren't you having U.A. make your costume when you get accepted, wouldn't it be better if they made your gauntlets as well?", Izuku questioned. Katsuki grabbed his wallet, took out ¥553,880, and handed it to Izuku, "Look, I don't know if those guys at U.A. will mess up my hero costume or not, but I know I can guarantee that you won't screw up my Grenadier Bracers, and to be honest I care more about my gauntlets than I do my costume. Take this money and put it to good use."
