A King's Choice

New Beginnings

The next day Belle and Issac return to the kingdom to see the King and for Issac to meet his Father.

Belle goes to open the door and Daniel walks in with a gift in his hand. He kisses Belle before seeing Issac.

"Issac come over and meet your Father."

"Hello Father."

"Issac, my son." At the point Issac is having a flashback to seeing his Father when he was younger, Daniel has visited them before while they were in the country.

"We should go see the King, how is he?"

"Grandfather is ill, how bad is it?"

"He keeps up his strength from time to time, but I fear that he may not have it for long. I'm just glad you and Issac are safe, was the house to your liking?"

"Yes very much so, it was cozy." He takes Belle's hand and wraps his arm around Issac's shoulder and all three go in the carriage waiting for them outside. Once in the carriage, Issac has a bunch of questions for his Father. 

"Father, why did you leave us?"

"I did it to protect you and your Mother, I couldn't let anything happen to you. The Princess wanted to eventually kill you and I wasn't going to let that happen and I won't let that happen." Belle cuts in.

"What do you mean won't?"

"The Princess was in the dungeon for a while for his crimes and all the sudden one day she wasn't. I asked for an annulment of the marriage so that I can marry you." He reaches in his pocket and gets out a box and opens it. 

"Will you, Belle Granville, marry me." Then he turns to Issac. "Issac I know I haven't been there for you all this time and there's no excuse for that. All I can do it make it up to you for the rest of our lives. Will you accept me as your Dad?"

"I never stopped Dad." He hugs Issac.

"I will marry you. We have been in love since we were kids playing behind the house in the field." They kiss.

"My Prince, we are here.

"Its nice to see the castle hasn't changed."

"Yes, my Mother and the Princess wanted to bring in an outsider to help decorate, but I think he wanted more than to decorate."

"What do you mean?"

"The Princess wanted to be Queen so that she could take over the kingdom to be able to pay back her debts and sadly my Mother was apart of it too. We haven't seen her of the Princess since the Princess escaped, but now that you said yes and are back the people will gladly accept their new Princess and young Prince." He leads them down a hallway to the King's chambers.

"King Luke?"

"Belle and.......Issac, my grandson." Issac goes towards him and hugs him, he sees something that catches his eye.

"Is that mine?"

"Yes, after you were born we had you hands and footprints framed so that I could be reminded of your presence." He turns to Daniel. "Did you propose to her son, I want to see you married before I die."

"Don't talk like that, you'll live for a long time."

"No son, its time that you and Belle take over as King and Queen, the people love you and always will."

"Promise me that you will find Amber and your mother and have them answer to what they have done."

"I promise, Father, the pope is here."

"Good son, Belle would you do me the honor of letting an old man see his son get married."

"Yes, King Luke."

"Lady Belle, Prince Daniel are we ready?" They both nod yes. Issac is proud of this moment, but sad too.

"We are gathered here today in the sight of God in holy matrimony to wed together Lady Belle Granville and Prince Daniel Torville. I have never wanted to marry such a more deserving couple than yourselves. Now would you like to say vows?" They both nod.

"Daniel, I love you with all my heart and I love how you are with Issac and that you put everything involving us before anything else. I love your spirit and kindness to others as well as your thoughtfulness. I promise to love you and cherish you and our son for as long as I live. I will be a good Queen and wife to you and be faithful to you always."

"Belle, I love you more than life itself. I pray for you more than myself. Issac, I promise to love you and be there for you always, I will protect you no matter what. I love your Mother and will give up my life for her, she is wonderful. I will love you forever and I can't wait to call you my Queen."

"Do we have the rings." The pope waits for them to put on the rings. "I now pronounce you husband and wife. My Prince, you may kiss your Princess." King Luke looks happy but his light is diming and Issac is holding his hand, Belle, and Daniel then turn to see his paler."

"Doctor!!!!!" The doctor comes in and gives him some medicine to make him sleep and the family go back to Belle's house.

"Dad, I'm happy you married Mom. Goodnight."

"Issac you don't know where you're sleeping."

"Grandmother told me." They wave him goodnight. and then go to Belle's room. 

The next day the sad news goes out that the King has died, Belle and Issac officially move in the Castle and that night Belle and Daniel gets ready for the coronation.

"Are you ready for tomorrow, my Queen."

"Yes, my King." He spins Belle around and kisses her.

"Ooooo, tell me I' the luckiest man in the world."

"Why?"

"Because I have you and Issac in my life." He sets her down as they start to head to their room. "To be honest I think Issac is a little resentful against me."

"Why would you say that?" They walk to an empty room, which looks like a living room and shut the door to talk.

"You know because I wasn't there for you or Issac."

"You did what you had to do to protect us."

"Still I should have been there for you guys."

"You were there for us, you sent us letters and paintings and toys. You set us up in that house." She rubs his shoulders and kisses his head, little do they know Issac has been listening to the conversation.

"All I wanted was your love and I have that." Belle and Daniel turn to see Issac in the doorway. "Dad, I realize what you had to do to protect us and I'm glad you're here now."
