A/n - Hi everyone, this is my first ever fan fiction but I have a lot of ideas and I'm really excited to write. These first two chapters are quite short to lead into the story then they get longer. I hope you enjoy reading this story x

(I've decided to put an extra bit here just to let people know about my other book for Peter Parker and Tom Holland Imagines check it out x)

Y/n's POV

I walked into the console room for SHIELD to see Nick Fury standing tall over three computer monitors. Behind him stood Maria Hill looking out towards the windows of the Helicarrier with a tablet in her hands.

Even now all of this still took my breath away.

"Ah, Agent Y/n, you're here." Fury didn't turn to look at me he simply continued his work at the monitors.

"Sir." I nodded as I made my way over to him. I noticed on the three monitors; one showed the info of a company I'd never heard of, and another showed a man's face I didn't recognise.

The third monitor showed my agent profile. Just the usual things like my full name and birthday and my mission count and so on.

I've always been proud of my mission count, it's the highest of all the SHIELD agents.

Everyone has always been impressed with me since I transferred from SHEILD's base in England to their base in New York where I've now been for around 3 years.

"You ready for you next mission?"

"Always, sir."

"Good. I've got the files here for you to go over in your own time." Fury noted.

I was always glad to get a new mission. I wanted to maintain my place as top agent in the country.

Well... one of the top.

I say "one of" with a lump in my throat.

Agent Holland. We've always had a huge rivalry ever since he transferred to our New York base a year ago. He's not a bad agent I'll give him that but he's only been here a year and he's already caught up with me on mission count.

He's currently neck and neck with mine. Every mission I get - he seems to get one too to level the scores.

Everyone, including Head Agent Fury, thought we would be perfect together and looked great together. They all thought we had amazing chemistry through our 'flirty banter' as they called it when we made fun of each other in the field.

We're both very competitive and actually quite similar but we could never be friends all because of this feud.

He must hate me.

But whether he does hate me or not isn't important - my main focus now is this new mission.
