Noah's POV

Me and Naomi have been dating for two weeks now, and this afternoon I was meeting her parents and of course seeing Jack again... and how could I forget Melody? I look over myself once again, I want to make a good impression with her parents!

"You're good, bro." Elle says.

"I've got to get going." I pick up my car keys and pass by her. "You are going to be okay here without me?"

"I'm freaking 16!"

I chuckle. "Right, so used to you being small."

She sighs. "Have fun, don't worry too much.. Naomi likes you and I don't think she cares if her parents adore you or not."

I roll my eyes and open the front door. "Yeah... well I care. See you later."

I drive to Naomi's house and park close by, not blocking their driveway. When I get to the door it's already being opened, I jump back only to see my girl smiling at me shyly.

"Hey, beautiful." I say, breathless from the rush here and sneak a quick kiss on her lips. "I'm not late, am I?"

She giggles. "You're on time, Noah."

I follow her in to the house and the family is spread out in the living room.. I clear my throat and wait for Naomi to introduce me.

"Dad, this is Noah, my boyfriend." She forces out.

"Nice to meet you, sir." I shake her dad's hand strongly.

He smiles. "Nice to meet you too, Noah. We've heard so much about you, let me introduce you to my wife, Carol."

"Pleasure to meet you, Ma'm." I say.

Carol widens her eyes and shakes my hand sweetly. "Wow, you've got good manners on you, Noah."

I smile. "I've been raised to respectful."

"Please, call me Carol." She adds.

I nod and then turn to Jack and Melody. "I believe you've met Melody.." Naomi says with distaste.

I don't need to, but I smile. "Yes, you are in the same course as Jack, I believe." I say.

"Always a pleasure." Melody purrs.

Remember, Noah... no rolling eyes here. "Hey, mate." I shake Jack's hand.

He hardens his grip on my hand and I almost want to ask what's going on before we are done and he clears his throat. "How's work?" He asks.

"Oh yes, we hear you were in the same course as Jack, before you went to work instead. Is there a reason for that?" Her mom asks me.

"Mom!" Naomi shouts and I shake my head at her, turn back to Carol.

"It's okay. I wanted to make most of my career in surfing, it's been a big thing for me and my family is big on surfing, they're lifeguards. I want to still get a degree in the future though."

Her dad nods slowly and pats my back. "Yes, our family is big on getting degrees, I'm sure you understand?"

"Of course, sir." I nod.

"Let's get eating!" Carol says kindly and leads us to the dining room.

I stay behind, walking with Naomi, she shakes her head and closes her eyes. She stops me walking halfway and turns to me.

"I'm sorry... god, I told them not to bring that shit up, it's not their business."

I stroke her cheek. "Of course it's their business.. I'm dating you, they're right to question me."

"Not like they are.." She whispers and holds my hand. "Whatever happens at lunch, ignore them...?"

I chuckle. "It'll be fine... calm down, sweetheart."

She nods. "Okay, thanks.. I'm so nervous." She giggles.

I nod. "So am I." I wink at her.

We sit down around the table and I let everyone serve themselves before I take some food on my plate. I take a forkful of the rice and munch up before turning to Naomi's mom.

"This is delicious, Carol." I say.

She gleams. "That's so nice of you to say, I love to cook.."

"So." Jack clears his throat. "Have you slept with my sister, Noah?"

Naomi chokes and I smooth her back, wanting to glare at Jack.. what the hell? Naomi uses her napkin and glares at her brother.

"Jack, what the fuck's wrong with you!? What kind of question is that!?" She shouts.

"Language!" Her dad says.

"Naomi.." I warn.

"No, this is stupid." She defends me.

"It's a simple question." Jack says and takes a mouthful of beans. "So did you?" He asks again.

"Don't answer that." Naomi growls toward me.

I take her hand from under the table and rest it on my lap, tracing my thumb over the back of her hand.

"I haven't." I clear my throat.

"Jack, control yourself." Her dad finally says before turning to me. "We heard from Naomi that you're working at the surf shop on the beach, is that right?"

I smile. "Yes, I'm working there full time, and working on my surfing skills for a competition in a few months, it'll escalate my career."

"Brilliant." He nods. "I remember when I took a gap year, with nothing but some small amount of money, I wanted the full experience of the world." He grins, remembering memories from his childhood.

Carol smiles at Naomi before turning to me. "Your parents must be pretty happy."

"They are very supportive."

Melody leans on the table and smirks at me. "You and my sister must be exclusive then?"

Was her siblings out to kill me or is it just me? I sigh before facing Melody. "I'd like to think so, Melody."

Naomi groans and I squeeze her hand again, I can only imagine how embarrassed she was. When she came to my house for dinner we were laughing and so light, this was like lunch with the royals.

"Melody, keep your boobs in your top." Naomi growls at her sister, surprising me... also I really want to laugh.

"How much money do you make?" Jack butts in.

"JACK!" Naomi now is in full thrust and shakes her head at him. "Okay, that's it." She throws her fork and knife down and gets up, pulls me up with her.

"I won't sit here listening to you both." She points to Jack and Melody, "Badgering him and I won't let this lunch turn into some job interview." She glares at her parents. "I'm going out with Noah, if you don't mind!"

I glance at her family before greeting them a 'sorry' goodbye and walking after a fuming Naomi. Oh was that a lunch...
