~The Park~
After me and Dontrell went to the store, he came up with the idea for us to go to the park. I hope Ms.Bella isn't in the hurry for her groceries, I might be with Dontrell for awhile.
"So tell me, what is it that you have been up too? Dontrell asks. I stare at him, wondering what is it that he really want to know. "I thought Emerald told you everything".
He gives me an intense look. I feel as though he could see straight through me and opening all of my secretes. I don't know rather I should be scared or turned on. "The things that I want to know, I don't believe she can tell me". "What is it that you want to know"?
I want to kick myself for asking that question. There are somethings that I do not want for Dontrell to know. The car tragedy is one of them.
"Why is it that I haven't heard from you since you left?" Here we go. Lord please be with me. "I've been busy, with my mother".
He gives me the knowing look.
"And no, not like the way we was in Jersey, well not me". He looks confuse and I can tell why. I don't even know what I am saying.
"What do you mean Brianna?".
"I mean, since me and my mom left Jersey, we've been living in her car". "We've had nowhere else to go, my mom couldn't find a job unless it was having sex with a strange man".
I could feel the tears streaming down my face and look of concern on Dontrell's face. He walks up closer to me. I can smell his sweet cologne, that I missed so much. I felt his arms around me, hugging me tight. I let my self go into his arms and let the tears go as well. I felt so free in his arms I did not want to let go. I could stand here with him forever.
If only Dontrell knew what I have been going through these past months, this hug makes up for all of it. "I can't let you go again Bri". A tear fell. This time tear of joy.
"And I won't let you go again."
