You take a deep breath as you stand in front of your new school. Today's your first day and you're super nervous. This is the first time you've ever switched schools so it's pretty nerve wracking, especially since it's the middle of the school year.

You slowly push open the school doors and walk inside. Your eyes widen and you look around curiously. It's way nicer than your old school.

A few people glance at you as you make your way to the office to grab your schedule. You're not surprised though. Your mother told you people would stare and probably talk about you for the first couple of days but it'll soon be old news.

Once you have your schedule, you make your way towards the hallway where your locker is located.

"Hi there!" You jump at the sudden voice appearing from beside you. You look to see a girl standing there with a big smile on her face. "I'm Ashley, you're new right?"

You smile and nod. "Yeah, i'm Y/N."

Her eyes light up. "We're gonna be friends, okay?"

You giggle at how excited she sounds. "Okay."

She grabs your hand and tugs on your arm. "Come on, i'll help you find your locker."

It only takes about a minute to find it and once you do, you immediately open it with ease and begin placing books in there that you won't need yet.

"So, where are you from?" Ashley asks as she leans against the locker beside yours.

"I'm originally from Florida, we just moved here a week ago." You explain.

She nods her head. "That's so cool! I've always wanted to visit Florida."

You laugh and shake your head. "I'm sure you'll change your mind when you actually do. It's super hot there, not enjoyable at all."

She shrugs. "Well it's better then living in boring old Arizona." She stands up straighter. "Anyways, since we have most of the same classes, we'll walk together obviously. Also, we can meet outside the cafeteria before lunch, that way you won't have to spend an hour-holy crap. Why is Noah Centineo staring at you?!" She whispers the last part to herself mostly, sounding surprised.

Her eyes are wide as she glances at something behind you. You furrow your eyebrows and look at her like she's crazy. "Who?"

She smiles dreamily. "Only the hottest guy in this school, possibly the whole state."

You're still confused as you turn and look around. You scan the people standing around the hallway, until you spot someone staring back at you.

Your eyes slightly widen and you quickly look back at Ashley. "Wait, the guy in the black shirt?" You question, as your nerves return.

She quickly nods her head and lets out a quiet squeal. "He's so into you."

You look back at the cute brown-eyed boy and a blush appears on your cheeks. He's still watching you with a look of curiosity in his eyes. When he notices that you're looking at him again, he sends you a small smile.

You return the gesture and look back towards your locker.

"I saw that." Ashley smirks.

Your blushing increases and you shake your head. "Saw what?"

She rolls her eyes as you close your locker. "Don't even. He smiled at you! Do you know how big this is?" She grabs onto your shoulders. "He's the most popular guy at this school. He never smiles at anybody except his friends."

You giggle at her craziness and shrug. "I'm sure he's just being friendly."

Ashley sighs and runs her hands down her face. "Whatever, I ship it."

Your eyes widen at her words. "Ashley, i've never even spoken to him."

"So?" She looks behind you and grins. "He's still looking at you."

You turn around and see that she's right. He's still staring at you with a small smile on his face.

Your eyes snap back to Ashley. "Can you help me find my class now?" Your voice is a bit shaky.

You've never gotten attention from a guy.
Not even at your old school.

So far all of your classes have been good. You've made a couple of new friends in each class, which you were relieved about.

Right now it's lunch time and you're waiting in front of the cafeteria for Ashley. You lean against the brick wall and pull out your phone to check Snapchat.

As you're looking through people's stories, you notice someone stop right in front of you. You look up and when you see who's standing there, a blush appears on your cheeks.

He grins. "Hey."

You stand up straight and return his smile. "Hi."

He holds out his hand. "I'm Noah." You slowly nod your head and shake his hand. You immediately feel tingles run through your body. "You're Y/N, right?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.

Your eyes widen.
How does he know your name?

You nod once again. "Yeah, i'm new."

He chuckles. "I know. I saw you this morning. I was gonna help you but that girl beat me to it." He looks slightly disappointed when he says this.

"Is that why you were staring at me?" You ask teasingly.

You notice his cheeks become a light shade of pink as he nods and lets out yet another chuckle. "Uh, yeah. I wanted to talk to you but I chickened out." He scratches the back of his neck.

You open your mouth to speak when another voice interrupts you.

"Noah, what's up man?!" Another guy walks up beside him and holds his hand out for a handshake.

"Hey, Y/N!" A voice calls from your left. You look and see Ashley walking towards you with a small smirk resting on her face.

You turn back to Noah and smile sheepishly.
"I-I should go."

"I'll see you later though, right?" He asks, looking hopeful.

You nod, making him smile, before turning and walking to Ashley.

She squeals quietly once you're close enough. "Were you just talking to him? I knew he liked you! It was so obvious-" You cut her off by placing your hand over her mouth.

"Calm down, we were just talking." You laugh.

She looks at you with her eyebrows furrowed. "That's a big step in your relationship Y/N! Soon you'll be making babies and moving in together."

You look at her like she's crazy. "That won't be happening any time soon."

She sighs disappointedly. "Fine."

You loop your arm through hers. "Come on, i'm hungry."
