There once was a man who worked like no other
He had not a sister, he had not a brother
His kids went away and never came back
All he had left was his grandson, Quiet Jack
With Jack he spent time and stories he would tell
He told once a story that Jack remembered well
Of his greatest treasure, he'd buried you see
In what's now the churchyard - a cemetary
Jack longed for this treasure, his lust grew much bigger
He knew he could find it, if he was a gravedigger

Digging graves for the town became his profession
The prize that he sought remained his obsession
He dug them deep and extra wide
His heart would perk up everytime someone died
What started a plan was now his religion
Although he was nervous, he made a desicion
He didn't think it was right, in fact he knew it was wrong
He needed more deaths, so he sped them along

His victims piled up as the town lived in fear
with every new grave he knew he was near
Finally one night while digging the yard
His shovel drove deep and hit something hard
Could this be the one to end his spree?
He uncovered a box and smiled with glee
The top he removed with speed like no other
Revealing the remains of his murdered grandmother
