Chapter Four

*Unknown POV*

Her features were almost the same as her mother's, but most of all, her perfect yellow hair that fell neatly behind her seemed to stand out. I noticed how on her left exposed arm, I can see the faint marking that each of the same kind have. It's distinct, and very precise. The shape of a heart, as small as a penny. But, it was there.

She hadn't changed much since the last encounter I had with her, though she recognized me not. She had gotten a tiny bit taller, but other than that she was still the same. She reminded me so much of her mother, who still ached for knowledge of my nonexistence. But, I haven't left, and I am very much alive.

I stand aloof from the others, glancing at her from the corner. And, when my eyes fell upon her mother, I felt a wave of sorrow wash over me. The beauty of her will always be in my memory, and I will never forget her, though I used to try my best to erase the past.

Perhaps it was the the sudden feeling that lay in the pit of my stomach, or a strawberry, vanilla scent that wafted through the air, but I suddenly knew one thing: That my mate was here, and she was closer than I thought.

*Ally's POV*

It was down-pouring, and the wind screamed through the open window in the basement. Thunder rumbled in the far distance, and I saw a sudden flash of lightening. I stood, shivering in the vast living room, my hair soaked.

Olivia and Dylan sat motionless across from me, their weary gazes meeting anywhere but to mine. They held a look of . . . guilt? I couldn't understand their emotions, since I hardly knew these people, but I know when someone has something on their mind.

Since I was still waiting on an explanation, I felt anxiety bloom in my chest, and I knew that I couldn't bear to contain my questions for much longer. I just needed to know that Kate was safe, and I could survive the rest of the day without any more answers. But, as I glanced over at the two of them, it was clear that I wasn't going to get anything new out of them.

We had been walking through the backyard woods on the hill, and I had saw something that had struck my curiosity. An outline of a person, though I knew that my imagination tends to run wild. But, that didn't stop me from wondering about it.

I heard a sigh escape from Dylan's lips, and he stood up quickly.

By the look on his face, he was't very happy.

 *Dylan's POV*

How can I tell her? How can I explain? How can I simply make her understand? It's impossible to. She's human. At least, that's what I thought . . . until he showed up. So, what am I supposed to do now?

Sorry for the long wait! Crappy chapter, I know, but hang in there. It'll get better.

Thanks,
