~~Phil's Pov~~
I push through the heaving glass doors of my new secondary school. Looking around the hall, seeing some familiar faces, but not many. I fidgeted with the sleeve of my grey fox jumper while walking towards the yellow lockers. I quickly noticed the clique of people hovering around my locker, some of them slightly familiar. I awkwardly ask for them to move so I can get to my locker. The sound of me speaking barely being audible. No one in the clique of people heard me, other than a brown haired boy who looked about the same age as me. I heard him murmur to the others to move, and they all did.
I walk up to my locker, number 004, grabbing the piece of paper with my pass code on it. One of the wrinkly old ladies at the office gave it to me, also giving a few instructions on how to use the lock itself. I find myself struggling a bit to open the lock. The brown haired boy from the clique glanced over to see me struggling. He said something to his friends and started walking over. "Need help?" the brown-haired boy asked, I glanced up "Yeah if you wouldn't mind." I scamper to the side, letting the brown haired boy take a crack at my locker. "Hi [I'm Dan]" the boys voice was soft and welcoming, "I'm Phil" I said with a smile I heard the sound of the lock opening Dan then swiftly moved away from my locker "See you around?" he questioned I nodded "Yeah" and with that Dan walked off. I put my stuff in my locker and headed to my first class, art.
On my way to art class, I seem to have gotten lost. I look down at my school map to realize I took a wrong turn and ended up on the opposite side of the school. Looking up from my map I noticed a figure at the end of the hall, I took a few steps closer and realized it was another boy who looked just as lost as I was. We locked eyes as he made his way over to me, waving. "Are you lost?" I heard the boy ask. I answer with a little nod of my head "Y-Yeah are you? I'm trying to find my art class." the boy's face lit up. "I have art now too!" the boy smiled showing his timetable to me. "I think took a wrong turn up here," he said pointing at the map in my hand. I nodded "We should head back that way then, I think?" the boy smiled at me, "Let's go then! We don't want to be late!"
As we walk to class I find that the boys name was Garrett, we end up finding out that we had nearly every class together. Luckily, we made it to class right before the bell rang. I scanned the room quickly, seeing most seats were taken except for two in the front. I faintly nudge Garrett's side and point to the two open seats, and we slowly make our way over. "I'm glad you found me lost in the halls." Garrett says, letting out a small giggle "I would have never found my way to class!" I take a seat and set down my sketchbook down on the desk. I turn to Garrett to say something but the woman standing at the top of the room cleared her throat.
"Morning everyone!" the short, brown-haired woman said "I am Mrs.Annie and I will be your creative arts teacher. I know you are all very excited about your first day and I can't wait to get to know all of you!" she said clearly, like she had practiced it multiple times "so what we are going to do is go around the room and say your name along with one random thing about yourself" the class sighed and the young woman walked over to her desk. "Right! We will start here " she smiled at Garrett "would you start sweetheart"
"Alright" Garrett answers equally as excited. He turned so he was facing most of the class "my name's Garrett Watts and I love kill bill." Mrs.Annie gave him a warm smile before shifting her eyes to look at me. She gave me a nod signalling me to talk
"I-uh my names Phil-Phil Lester and I guess I like dogs." I stuttered.
Most of the class had said their names when I heard a familiar voice
"I-uh-my names Dan Howell and uh" the brown haired boy from this morning paused "I, uh I'm from Wokingham"
"Oh that's lovely, when did you move to Manchester?" the teacher questioned
"This summer" the young boy answered, with a little more confidence in his voice.
'Oh that's cool, the guy from earlier is in my art class' I thought to myself as the last few students introduced themselves, the teacher than continued on.
"So for today I'm just going to write a list of the art supplies you will need throughout this year and after you write all that down you can chat amongst yourselves." With that Mrs.Annie started writing the supplies list on the whiteboard.
"Soooo" I heard Garrett start speaking "What Hogwarts house are you in?" He asks, bouncing in his seat, obviously excited about the topic. "I myself, am a Hufflepuff," Garrett says with pride, making a superhero stance in his seat. Right as I was about to answer I notice that dan, the brown-haired boy was walking past me and Garrett with a boy whom had ginger hair.
"I'm a-" I looked down at my hand, there was a pain, it felt like someone was tying a tight string around my pinky. I looked up to see Garrett shaking his hand.
"Wait what's wrong" I question ignoring the discomfort in my finger. "My-uh my pinky feels weird.." he muttered barely audible. "What do you mean?" I questioned farther. "I just don't feel well," he said quickly. "Do you want to go tell the teacher?" I suggested. "Um ya,," he said standing up. I didn't want to tell Garrett I felt the same because that meant there was a possibility that we were soulmates.
