You stared at Jimin in shock.
"I'm sorry, what?"
Jimin raised his dark eyebrows at you.
"Your o~ppa." He annunciated the word slowly like you were a kid, eyes full of laughter. "You don't mind, right?"
You could hardly believe what you were hearing.
Jimin, a dick's best friend, getting you to call him oppa? It wasn't like he fancied you, but maybe he was just one of those international playboys that went after anything that moved....
Or perhaps it meant nothing at all to him.
You knew you weren't exactly a goddess and he was....
Well, he was the type of guy who ended up asking you if Jihyo--your pretty, interesting to talk to best friend--had a boyfriend.
"No thanks, I don't do stuff like that," you replied shortly, turning around and pulling the book you needed off the shelf but just as you were about to bag it, Jimin grabbed it from your hands.
"Oppa will carry it for you," he smirked, as if he hadn't understood anything you had just said at all.
And he had dropped the honorifics.
Deciding not to overreact, you resumed walking down the aisle, trying to piece together why exactly Jimin was here.
"Hey, I don't think I got a chance to thank you for saving me," you remembered suddenly. "I don't really remember much about the accident. Just...that you stopped the car and then I blacked out. I really don't know how to repay you...."
"A-aniya, kwenchanha," Jimin said quickly, waving his hands. "I'm just happy you're alive."
You smiled. Me too."
After that, you were both silent again and you desperately tried to find something else to say, going to the next aisle.
"Hey I thought you had a meeting today?" you dropped, hoping to cue him to leave "You have a lunch meeting, don't you?"
Jimin's looked at the ground then, avoiding eye contact. "O-obseo. I don't have any meeting."
Well, at least he had the decency to excuse you from knowing you weren't invited, you thought bitterly. What an asshole. Just tell me straight.
Sighing, you stopped beside the last book on your list you needed, fingers catching the spine and pulling it out but before you could even check the cover
"I told you, oppa will carry it for you," Jimin scolded, taking the book away and tucking it under his arm.
Ok, giving up.
You made your way to the checkout desk, Jimin still following noiselessly.
"So, did you have class already?" you asked, scanning your library card as he plopped the books down, a strand of hair falling across his forehead.
"No," Jimin answered. "I didn't."
Ok then.
"Do you have a class in the afternoon then?"
You scanned the first book.
"I have a class."
You scanned the second book.
"When is it?"
"When's yours?"
Answer the question goddamnit.
