Two Less Lonely People

Chapter 6

We arrive safely at home. My mum and dad aren't here and is probably helping with the casualties from the big fight earlier.

As we were on our way here, Marnie had mind-linked me that the rogues retreated and the kids are safe. She also mentioned that Lunar eclipse's beta was looking for Nate. Great! Now, I have some explaining to do. I told Marnie to have the beta meet me at the packhouse.

"You don't live at the packhouse?" Nate asked as we reach my house.

I gently shook my head and let him down at the porch, I motioned for him to follow me inside which he immediately do so.

After I grab and wore something, I went down only to find Nate sleeping soundly on the couch.

I let him sleep and headed to the kitchen to prepare us some snacks. I knew he's tired as well due to the adrenaline rush we had earlier.

I was washing all the utensils I used cooking baked mac when I felt like someone was watching me.

Suddenly, I felt like someone is watching me. And I felt jittery, I looked around but saw nothing.

"What's going on?" I asked her.

"I'm not sure. I never felt this way before." she replied as I continue to watch the wolf completely.

Maybe this is just the effect of having too much adrenaline earlier.

"Teacher?" Nate called catching my attention. I glanced at the kitchen doorway seeing Nathaniel standing there.

"Yes?"

"I fell asleep." he said sleepily as he rub his eyes.

"Yes, sweety. Let's have some snack then I'll bring you at the pack house so your packmates could pick you up." I explained.

"Okay."

I looked out the around again to check but there is nothing. Red has also settled down.

" This is a wrong idea, wrong idea. Very wrong idea." I've been saying that since Nate and I started to walk to the packhouse after we finished our snack.

"Oh, shut up and have some balls. Plus, he probably won't be at the pack house cause hello?!?! We have rogue issues here!" Red snickered causing my eyes to roll and mentally shake my head.

"First, I got no balls cause I'm a woman. Second, I'm not concerned with Jerry." I replied sarcastically.

She just giggled then asked, "Then who? Chloe?"

"Of course not!" I lied to her even though I knew I was actually lying to myself.

"I'm worried about our Alpha and this kid's Beta. I don't know how to explain why I didn't do the protocols." Our protocol is to keep the kids safe and hide in the safehouse. I don't know what will they think of me when they found out that Nathaniel was able to snuck out and endanger both ourselves back at the school.

I was taking my first step on the packhouse's porch when the door suddenly slammed open. When I held my head up, a slap crossed my cheek that almost knocked the hell out of me. I carressed my flamming cheek. His slap was so hard it will leave a bruise.

"Uncle Jack! No!" Nate screamed.

"Nate, we're going back now to our territory, say good bye to your former teacher."

"No! No! She's going to be my mum!" the boy cried.

His uncle's brows furrowed. He looked at his nephew then back to me.

"No, she's not. Stop pushing it, Nate." he answered coldly.

Rage consumed me and I looked the man in his eyes then it consumed me. He was the Lunar eclipse's beta.

Standing behind him is my Alpha Danny and Luna Zeny. Confusion striked me. Why didn't they stop him. He's in our territory. He doesn't have the rights to inflict pain to a pack member unless—unless I have done them wrong.

My eyes widen. I searched my brain what I could possibly done wrong but I can't just think of anything.

"Let's go, Nathaniel." Beta Jack then started walking away but stopped in the middle.

"And Alpha Danny, please enlighten that good for nothing shewolf what her offenses are." he said giving us a side glance.

I was rooted to where I was standing, when I felt Nate's touch. I looked at him and nodded.

"I'm so sorry, Ms. Lyn. I'll talk to dad." he muttered sadly then run to his uncle's side.

They were long gone when I felt someone tapped my shoulder. Turning around, I saw Alpha Danny. His eyes shows hopelessness.

"You're in a lot of trouble young lady." he said.

"Let's go inside, Lyn. Let me fix that cheek of yours then your Alpha could explain further." Luna Zeny said.

I am so confused what did I do? Or was it what I didn't do?

What does Alpha Danny mean by trouble?
