"I. Fucking. Hate. Airports," Sam grumbles, huffing at her long brown hair which poked out beneath her oversized hoodie. The tips of her hair were light brown and they brushed across her defined jaw, annoying her even more.

"Oh come on Samantha," Skylar rolls her eyes, "it's such a gorgeous morning, look at that sunrise."

Skylar was the polar opposite of Sam.

They were like fire and water, the sun and the moon. Skylar always had a calming word to put out Sam's fire.

Skylar was Sam's mom, and you're probably thinking, 'Wait she curses in front of her mom?" but, the reality is, Skylar didn't force you to be perfect.

She understood that everyone grew in different ways and she accepted it for what it was.

She also wasn't an idiot, she knew that, obviously, by twenty-one, her baby girl was bound to be spouting a few (a lot of) obscenities.

She was beautiful.

In every sense of the word.

She was nearly always positive, always optimistic, regardless of what shit the world flung at her, because she knew that in the end, it would all work out as it's supposed to.

Skylar never judged you for what you told her, regardless of what it was.

When Hailee got outed, she expected the backlash of the ages. She counted on losing everything, especially her family.

But Skye did not let that happen. She put her foot down and stood up for her niece. As kind as she was, she was also strong, and woe be unto the person that ignored that.

As you can probably tell, Skylar was my rock, I loved her more than I loved myself and I could never repay her for what she's done for me.

Oh right, me, I forgot about that.

Hi, I'm Hailee.

I'm twenty-one years old, same as Sam, my cousin.

We went to the same school all our lives, and, growing up on a small island, inevitably to the same college. We lived in the same house ever since I was twelve, although I unofficially lived there ever since I was nine.

I'm a lesbian, which was quite a fun thing to be growing up in the Caribbean (sarcasm heavily intended).

I studied Business and Spanish at University and I am a chronic bibliophile. I love learning, and I intend to keep doing so until the day I die.

We were currently getting to the five a.m. plane to Toronto, Canada for Diana's wedding, and I could not be more excited.

I heard Sam and Skye faintly bickering about Sam forgetting the house keys on the front porch. I shook my head, this was a normal occurence. I pulled the keys out of my sweatpants, dangling them in front of Sam's face, "Looking for these, champ?" I mocked her, smirking.

Sam, rolled her eyes and grabbed the keys off of my pointer finger, "See mother, all's well that ends well."

Skye narrows her eyes at Sam, "You should be thanking God that Lee saved your ass, I was about to send you home to lock up and leave without you."

Sam was the only person that could get Skye pissed. It was actually pretty adorable.

Mother-daughter goals.

Sam rolled her eyes, drawing out her words, "Thank you, Lee."

I gave her a cheeky smile, "Anytime cousin."

We arrived inside and waited for the plane to arrive.

"Get some caffeine in your system, sunshine," I handed Sam the coffee I bought her, beaming.
