Just as I stepped out of my room, I immediately regretted doing it.
There was one person I wouldn't expect here, right now.
He was standing with crossed arms over his chest, gazing at me, and through his eyes were flashing many emotions.
Confusion.
Hurt.
Worry.
Fear.
"Brian?!" I froze when I saw him.
"Wha--" I couldn't finish my question before he closed the distance between us in a few swift steps and hugged me tightly.
I froze a bit before I responded to his tight hug.
"Why didn't you answer my texts and calls?" he pulled himself from me and stared into my eyes with worry, scanning my whole face as if trying to figure out what is going on.
My mind drifted back to the contract and everything, involving the fact, that I can't be with Brian.
Wait a minute... Did he find out about the contract?
A cold shiver ran down my spine as I imagined that somebody told him and it wasn't me.
Sensing my uneasiness, Brian caressed my cheek and continued.
"I thought something happened to you...are you okay?" he asked with an alarmed expression.
"I--" I stopped.
I can't say anything until I know if he found out about the contract.
"How did you get here?" I asked him, masking my nervousness.
"Maid let me in, and a way to your room I already know well" he added with a wink at the end.
A small smile crept on my lips as I looked back at the memories of Brian sneaking into my room many times, without anyone noticing.
"But why do you ask? It's not like the first time when I come over." He looked at me strangely.
It seems like he doesn't know about it yet.
"Do you want to go inside?" I pointed to my room.
The last thing I'd want right now is my dad emerging here and seeing me with Brian.
"Sure," he said with a small smile.
We entered my room and I closed the door carefully, glancing one last time to the hallway to make sure nobody is watching us.
I slowly turned around and watched Brian.
My heart ached.
He was my first love.
I don't mean those first boyfriends, but love. The real one.
He's always been there for me, cheering me up, making me laugh, calling me beautiful and his. He never disappointed me, not even once.
