I dressed up and prepared for school before I headed downstairs to get something for breakfast.
I couldn't sleep well last night, I kept tossing and turning from one side to another the whole night.
My mind was still fixated on the incident with Reed when he and his dad came over here to visit us.
I simply couldn't understand one thing.
How it was possible for him to act so normal when it's not just me who is unwillingly engaged?
I can't understand it.
I'd think that he wouldn't agree with this and that he'd try to persuade his father to annul the contract, but he doesn't do any of this. He is happily coming over to my house, flirting with me and calling me wifey. Ugh
I guess he doesn't understand that we'll have to be together for who knows how long and that we'll be a married couple.
*sigh*
I collected my things in my bag and pulled myself down for breakfast.
"Good morning miss" one of the maids- Ella, greeted me with a smile when I entered the kitchen, but her smile faded when she saw how I looked.
No matter how hard I tried to cover my puffy eyes with dark circles, the lack of sleep and stress was still visible on my face.
"Mornin' " I mumbled and took a seat at the counter. She placed a bowl with some cereals in front of me and I grabbed the spoon with some of it.
My appetite was ruined by the knots in my stomach that was created by all the stress through which I went in the past few days.
I put the spoon back and hung up my head with a long sigh, not feeling hungry anymore.
"Are you alright, miss?" she asked worriedly, taking a step towards me.
I looked up at her, not exactly knowing what to say or what to do.
"Umm... do you know about the contract, Ella?" I asked her with a slight pain in my voice.
"Y-Yes" she hesitated for a moment before she answered me nervously. "It's because of that then..." she said more to herself than to me.
"What would you do in my position?" I asked her out of nowhere.
"I mean..." I stopped for a second to think.
"If you loved someone, but then, your own father would sell you to the son of a billionaire just to save his ass..." I explained almost coldly, not feeling anything else than just a wave of pure anger and regret.
"And to make things worse, your so-called fiancé, who should be just as mad as you, is totally fine and he is flirting with you and acting like nothing of this ever happened!" I raised my voice as anger was getting the best of me. I let it all out in one sentence.
