*Ashton's POV*

I woke up around 4am. The school starts at 6:45.

I get up from the soft bed and head to the bathroom, knocking on it to make sure no one was in there. I didn't hear anyone so I opened the door. I washed my face with water just to wake me up a bit more.

After that, I went back to the room to grab my toothbrush and toothpaste, then went back. I brushed my teeth and went to get dressed.

I grabbed my suitcase from the floor and put it on top of the bed. I grabbed a plain black fitted shirt with rips in it. Most of my shirts had rips in them. I then put on denim skinny jeans. I matched that with my grey beanie that I always wear. I put on my black and white converse then get my phone and put it in my pocket.

I walk downstairs and and Liz is already up and is making herself a coffee.

"Oh, good morning Ashton!" She smiled

"Good morning." I reply

"Are you ready for your first day at your new school?"

"Um, yeah..I don't have anything though, like a backpack."

"Oh, I had the school get you some supplies. They have tons of extras there. Just go to the front office and just say your name and then they should give you everything you need." She retorted.

"Oh, okay, thanks." I smile.

As we stand there for a couple of moments, I hear some shuffling coming from the stairs. Luke then walks into the kitchen.

"Okay, I'm taking us to school, Ashton?" Luke looks up from his phone. "Are you ready?"

"Y-um,yeah, I guess." I answer.

"Okay, bye mom! love you" Luke give his mother a hug.

"Bye, Mrs.Hemmings" I say and waves goodbye.

"Drive safely boys!" I hear her say as we walk out of the house.

The car ride to the school was silent. There really wasn't much to talk about. We didn't even know each other that well.

Luke parked the car and we both got out.

"Where's the front office at?" I asked as we walked towards the school.

"It just right there." Luke said pointing to a small one story building.

I say bye to Luke then head in the direction of the building. I walk inside then go to the front desk.

"Hi, I'm Ashton Irwin and I'm supposed to pick up some..supplies." I smile.

The man at the front desk gets something from under the desk then hands it to me. It's a black Jansport backpack. I open it and there's a couple of notebooks and a binder. He then hands me a map of the school and my schedule, without saying anything. I walk out of the building and head into the A building,which was where my first period was.

Science.

What a weird way to start off the day, well at least for me. Anyways, I walk in the class and nobody was there but the teacher, I'm guessing.

"Hello, you must be our new student, Ashton Irwin, I'm Mr.Helshire. Um, class hasn't started yet, but I guess I'll just let you stay." He looks down at his newspaper,"We do have assigned seats at this school, so your seat is in the back right corner of the room."

I nod and walk to my seat. I sit down and put my backpack next to me.

After a couple of minutes of admiring the classroom, the bell rings. The students start to flood inside. As people were taking their seats, I got a couple of stares from some girls and some looks from the guys. It's like they've never had a new student before.

I notice Luke at the front of the room. He's writing and doodling in a notebook. I notice when he thinks, he twirls his lipring.

"All right class!" Mr.Helshire speaks at the front of them room,"I believe you've noticed the young man at the back of the room." Everyone turns to me then looks back at teacher. "Can you tell us about yourself?"

"W-well," I stutter. I didn't like is much attention,"um, I'm from Australia," I heard a few gasps from the girls. Almost as if they were excited."and..um..that's pretty much it." My voice cracked. Then some guys laugh. I slouch down in my seat feeling my face heat up.

The rest of my day ended up me not talking or even paying attention to the classes.

It was now last period, English, and I was getting ready to leave the classroom once the bell rang. But, I was stopped by a girl with red-brown hair.

"Hi! I'm Kat." She said putting her hand in front. We shake hands,"You're the new boy, right?" She asked with a smile showing her teeth.

"I'm Ashton, and yes, I'm new here." I retorted.

"Um, so there's this party tonight, and I was thinking that you should come." She said with a nervous look.

"Like a date, with you?" I ask, and she nods.

Uhm no, I'm not into girls. I mentally say

"Uhm sure. Why not?" I say.

Maybe this is a good thing. I don't know how the kids here are. What if they bully me for being gay? If I hit it off with this Kat girl, it'll hide the fact that I am gay.

I snap out of my day dream when Kat hands me her phone.

"Just put you number in it," she smiles,"I'll call you for the details of the party, later."

"Okay.." I reply.

After talking to Kat for a little bit, I walk outside to the parking lot. I see Luke standing next to his car. I start walking towards him.

"There you are! Are you ready to leave?" He practically yells.

"Yep." I say

As we get into the car Luke asks me a question.

"So.. Did you make any new friends?"

"Umm yeah," I look at him. "Uh, I got invited to a party tonight actually.."
