The Doppelganger

They both were staring at each other wide eyed wondering what is going on as they had never heard of themselves having a twin brother or sister, so who could the other person be? Lynk finally asked "Are you related to me in some way at all? Basically who are your parents?" Lynn then looked at him and said "My parents... They died from an assassination group a few years ago...". He then proceeded to say "Mine did also... That means your parents names must be...", "(Placeholder name) and (Placeholder name) Wyland..." Lynn said. "We are twins then?" Lynk said, "possibly, but there has to be something else in play here as I have never heard of another family member of mine being born or being alive ever in my life". They both were staring at each other then Lynk's face lit up as if he had an idea and he rose his right hand and removed his glove and told Lynn to do the same, he then said "Here let me see your right hand..." Lynn put her right hand next to his and he showed his birthmark which was shaped Ironically like an Ingot, but her hand didn't have one. She then removed her other glove and showed her left hand to him and there it was... An Ingot shaped birthmark just like his but on her left hand...

They both looked at eachother like they knew each other but at the same time they didn't. They both had their hands next to each others comparing the birthmarks when their birthmarks started glowing and they then again felt that pulsating energy through them, quickly Lynk grabbed her left hand with his right and then all the light blue veins around them seemed to be sucked into their glowing birthmarks, then a bright light followed by a huge explosion surrounded them, it happened again but this time it was different... The light started fading and reality started to form around them, but this time they were back in the mines where they both had found the strange rock, the rock was still there also but was no longer glowing but instead was in multiple pieces revealing an odd bluish metallic ore, and the pickaxe was still in the wall where it was left but looked corroded and rusty, the cavern seemed overgrown like they had been gone for years in that 'thing'. Lynk and Lynn both confused, let out a slight sigh or relief over the fact that they were back in the mine where they had left off but knew that something was off. Lynk looked at his birthmark and it was still faintly glowing blue and so was Lynn's. Lynk then said "Uh, Lynn, I think that going in there had some effect on our bodies, like we soaked up whatever that blue stuff was in that rock, kind of like we siphoned the 'energy' out of it?", Lynn " Yeah, I feel weird still, but the glow on my hand is fading", " So is mine..." he said.

After a bit they both decided to check on that rock and examine it a bit. After the examination they both had determined that it was some sort of ore, and that it was possibly dangerous but they loaded it all up into a minecart nearby, but the rails were seemingly overgrown and destroyed like no one had been there for centuries. After loading it all they continued up the mineshaft with the cart to the entrance, it was completely sealed like someone had blown it up and caused a cave in. Lynn then said "That's our only way out, what do we do now?", "I don't know... Let's look to see if there is any way through this pile of rubble" Lynk said. While they were searching, a rock fell on Lynn's foot causing her to let out a scream, after she screamed the ground started rumbling, Lynk quickly yelled "LYNN HURRY FIND COVER!", As he yelled that he started running and grabbed Lynn's hand pulling her with him as ran towards a flipped minecart near the tracks, he quickly flung her around him behind it and he slid behind it right after her, then they both ducked in it while rocks started falling all around the mineshaft and soon the whole place seemingly was collapsing. A bolder had been loosened from the rumbling in front of the minecart with the ore in it and started rolling towards it, Lynk and Lynn, both extremely scared that the boulder would hit the minecart causing them to lose the ore, ran out of the cover and quickly Lynk grabbed his pickaxe lying on the ground near them and ran up to the front of the filled minecart and swung his pick at the bolder breaking it into pieces but part of it still hit them and threw them back into the minecart, the pick landing inside the minecart, both were bruised but still alright, the mine was still collapsing then a bunch of rocks fell from above them, and they knew they couldn't escape, so Lynk grabbed Lynn and put her under him as he held her in his arm and held onto the minecart trying to protect her, Lynk then said "I don't know if we will make it...", Lynn replied yelling "I DON'T WANT TO DIE THIS WAY!", "Me either, I'm sorry" He said, After that their birthmarks started glowing. As the rocks were about to hit them the world around them flashed white...
