Tales of Nova Terra - The Twins (wip)

The fateful encounter

     The story starts in 1308 in a world that never advanced passed the steam era. We start off in an ore rich vein mine just south of Whiteburrow a small industrial city. A teenager with short messy dirty blonde hair, green eyes, and a pair of black welding goggles with green lens and is wielding a huge pickaxe made out of a strange alloy, who is covered in soot and dirt from head to toe and is wearing black boots, a black pair of jeans, a pair of black fingerless gloves, and a forest green button up trench coat that hangs down to the back of his knees with a crest on the back and looks as if a sort of medieval engineer would wear, is on the job mining in an uncharted sector of the mine that they had just opened up, his name is Lynk Wyland. 

     Lynk is a blacksmith and has been working in the mines and with metal for the past few years of his life ever since his parents, which were considered "Legendary Blacksmiths" and had acquired much wealth over their lives, were assassinated by an unknown group of assassins trying to get their hands on a weapon they had forged, which was said to hold mysterious powers as the alloy they used was made of special ore that can only be obtained from going deep down into the earth to places which only special dwarfs could survive, he has been collecting ores and forging them for the capital city, Darkhold and their army as they have been at war with many different factions for the past few decades and are in dire need or weapons, armour, and various other items.

     He was down in the mines looking for some Iron and titanium ore to finish his latest set of armour he had been working on which was a combination of alloys, one being Iron and titanium. As he was checking the new sector of the mines he stumbled upon a decent sized rock in the middle of an oddly shaped cavern, this rock was slightly illuminated by a faint blue glow which has been shining through various cracks of the rock, it look as though the light was pulsating. Lynk was instantly curious as to what this was so right after he inspected it he lifted his pick above his head and swung it down at the rock, instantly as the pickaxe made contact with the glowing blue portion of the rock a huge blue spark and partial explosion went off from the point of intersection and sent Lynk flying back into the wall and the pickaxe which had flung out of his hands was stuck in the wall next to him, little did he know what he had just done...
After that it seemed reality was fading around him and he could feel a pulse of strange energy flowing through him as everything around him began to fade into a black void with what seemed too look like vains of light blue streaks of lightning suspended in the tempatureless air around him. After a bit everything around him was gone except this void like blackness and the blue streaks and he was floating motionless in place questioning what had just happened to him. After a few seconds of realization, he started flailing, trying to get himself out of there, he did this to no end for a few minutes then realized it was pointless... He was completely stuck in this 'Void' and had no way out. This 'Void' felt like there was nothing in it as if it was frozen in time and nothing there existed but him currently. 

      After a few minutes, which felt like forever to Lynk, a strange sound rang throughout the 'Void' and a blue spark, the same one he had seen when he hit the rock appeared in front of him, then a body appeared out of thin air... It was a girl, and she looked very similar to Lynk, but she was wearing the same goggles, the same fingerless gloves, and the same trench coat but the only difference was that she was wearing shorts and her boots were more feminine and went further up her legs than his, also her trench coat sleeves were shorter than his, and her hair was slightly longer than his. "Who was this girl?" Lynk was thinking but he didn't say anything yet as she seemingly was unconscious. After a very drawn out minute passed she finally woke up, instantly she started flailing as she thought she was falling. She then realized that she was suspended in mid air in one place and wasn't going anywhere, so she looked around and right when she realized Lynk was there she stared at him and yelled "WHO ARE YOU? WHERE AM I? WHAT IS THIS? I WAS MINING AND THEN I HIT A WEIRD ROCK AND THEN AN EXPLOSION WENT OFF AND NOW HERE I AM, WHY AM I HERE? AM I DEAD?" She went on and Lynk was staring at her with a completely confused gaze... She then realized that he was also clueless on the situation at hand and took a big breath then said "I'm sorry, where are my manners... Hi, I'm Lynn, Lynn Wyland and you are?", Lynk then said "I'm Lynk, Lynk Wyland...".
