part five

Seven-thirty came around.
I was wearing a black v-neck t-shirt, along with my white ripped jeans. I had snagged a pair of black wedged boots from Forever 21 last week, so I was also wearing those. My hair was down and my makeup was heavy, too heavy. I hated parties, I refused to go to them. They were a waste of time, but I guess Cameron thought different.
Julianna's house was about a twenty minute drive away, since she lived in Richmond.

Cameron didn't have car, or a license.
"I haven't gotten around to going for my L yet." He had explained during lunch break at work. "Do you walk everywhere?!" I raised an eyebrow, "Basically, " Cam shrugged. "We live a block away so it's easy to get around. Downtown Vancouver has everything in one place. Also, cabs and buses and shit."

I waited patiently by my Mazda for Cam, we had just enough time to drive to Julianna's house. "I'm here, I'm here. Let's go!" Cameron jumped into my car, scaring the heck outta me. He was wearing black jeans and a Nike jacket over a dark grey sweatshirt. I had to admit, he looked really good. "Where were you?!" I started the car and buckled my seatbelt. "Getting a gift, duh." He rolled his eyes and held out a small gift box. I scoffed, had he never been to a party for a teenage girl before? "Presents aren't a thing anymore, sorry." I drove out of the driveway of my parents' house. They didn't exactly know I was going to a party, I just told them I was going out. "Whatever you say," Cameron smirked.
As a lot of parents are, my parents wouldn't like to have their second-oldest child going to a party till past midnight. In my defence, it wasn't my idea.
We were of legal drinking age. Still, my parents didn't like the idea of me drinking. I didn't know what Cameron's parents thought but it seemed like he went out like this a lot.
"I'll be the one to wow Julia with my amazing gift-giving skills." I rolled my eyes. "It's Julianna, and don't tell anyone who you are. If anyone asks, you're an employee at our cafe and your name is Cam. That's it." Cameron made finger guns, "Gotcha." He set his feet up on my dash as we drove. I let it slide.

We finally got there. Cam and I got out of the car and marveled over how large her house was. Most houses in Vancouver were small, and most places were apartments. This place was like a mansion. "Cool," Cam didn't wait even a second. He grabbed my hand and dragged me inside, and inside was a monster.

People were everywhere. If you were claustrophobic, you'd probably pass out. Cam dragged me while trying to find Julianna, so he could give her the present.
"Via! You came!" Julianna was hanging out in the kitchen with a few guys and two girls. People I didn't know, of course. She hugged me and then looked towards Cam. "You brought Cam, cool." She grinned and shoved her elbow into my side. "This is for you." Cameron handed her his gift. The box was blue, a white ribbon was wrapped around it and tied into a bow at the top. "Quite the gentlemen," She whispered into my ear and took the gift. She carefully unwrapped the gift and opened the box. "Oh my gosh! Thank you!" She took out a necklace and held it up for her friends to see. A silver necklace was between her fingers, a small arrow-shaped pendant hung and the very bottom of it. She clasped it around her neck and gave Cameron a hug, knocking him off his feet a little. When she finally let go of him, he had to take a breather because she had hugged him so tight. "Have fun at the party, you guys!" She winked at us and walked off to her friends.
"Dude, that gift looked expensive!" I shot a look at Cam, he just shrugged. "Wasn't a big deal, it was just from the local jewelry store." My mouth gaped open. The closest jewelry store was... "You're kidding," I scoffed, "you went to Tiffany & Co?" Cameron laughed and set his hand on my shoulder. "You're so uptight, let's go have some fun."

I stayed out of a lot of the activities going on. Knowing Cameron, he probably joined into every game of truth or dare and beer pong played. When it was a little after midnight, I went to go find him. I searched the living room, upstairs and backyard by the pool, he wasn't there.
Finally, I searched the dining room, and there he was.
Singing karaoke to The Vamps on top of the dining room table.
