"Princess (Y/N), it's time to wake up" I felt a gentle hand nudge my shoulder. I open my eyes to see my chambermaid Leanna standing next to my bed. Leanna was much older than I was. Her brown hair was starting to fade to white and her face had lines from laughter. I smile at her as I sit up and stretch.

"Good morning Leanna,"

"Good morning Princess. You have a big day today, your father is throwing a festival to celebrate your birthday today, so we need to get you dressed and ready," At her words I perked up, the sleepiness left my body as I pushed myself out of bed.

"Really? I'm so excited Leanna!" I could hardly contain my joy the town was always so lively during festivals and all the other children would run around and let me play with them. Leanna only nodded as she sat me down in front of the small vanity I had in my room.

"Let's get you all tidied up deary, what would you like your hair to look like? Braids or do you just want it to be down?" She asked brushing out my (H/L) (H/C) hair.

"I want it to look like Mommy's hair!" I said excitedly looking at myself, "Don't you think my mommy hair looks pretty? Cause I do!"

"Your mother is very beautiful, Princess and one day you'll look just like her. All the boys of the land will come to ask for your hand in marriage." Leanna always stated stuff like this so matter of factly. I didn't want to think of boys trying to get kissy with me.

"No Leanna, I don't want any boys. They're all so stinky, I want a dog or a cat instead," I stated stand up as Leanna finished putting up my hair. My hair was mostly down, but the top layers were brought together in the middle of my head to form a braid that was tied with my favorite colored ribbon. Leanna chuckled and shook her head.

"Let's get you dressed so you can see your mommy and daddy, alright deary?"

"Yes!" Leanna brought out a small purple gown, that would be just my size. The dress had long sleeves that flared out at the hands and the length stopped above my ankles in the front, but would touch the ground in the back. It had the kingdoms three circle symbol embroidered in gold thread scattered across it.

"Lift your arms please," I did as Leanna instructed and put my hands about my head. She pulls off my little night gown and puts a slip on in its place. Then the new purple dress was put on me and I was ready to go to see my dad. I was half way out the door when Leanna stopped me.

"Wait deary, your shoes," Leanna dropped the purple fabric shoes on the ground on my feet and I slipped them on before continuing my task.

I run through the castle giggling to myself. It's my birthday and daddy is going to have the kingdom celebrate with us! The halls are filled with the tapping of shoes and my pants and giggles. I turn the corner and bump into something. My laughing stops as I fall to the ground with a small thump. I look up to see Merlin looking down at me smiling.

"Ho ho, Princess! Good morning!" He sounds very jolly today.

"Morning Merlin! Can you guess what today is?" I'm standing by this point and gently rocking on my feet.

"Why, Princess, it's Tuesday!" Merlin has a large grin on his face. I push his leg and giggle.

"Nope! That's not it at all! Merlin it's my birthday!" My smile never falters as he looks surprised at me.

"By Jove! It is? Well Princess it's seems that I've forgotten." His voice is obvious and joking as he starts digging through a leather satchel that he's carrying. He pulls out a handkerchief and sets it on his left hand. His twiddles the fingers above his right hand about his left and exclaims,
