Evan's PoV

Walking into school a group of girls rush past me, squealing while a group of boys chased them. This school will always be chaotic. With fights almost every day just by looking at someone the wrong way you'll get hit.

But my friends and I stay out of trouble. We only watch the fights go on. Noah still gets into fights, even though he doesn't want to—well that's what I think at least.

I walked through the hallway, turning the corner to see Amy talking to a familiar blond haired boy. I look closer, I know that blonde hair anywhere.

Chris.

I calmly walked over to her, attempting to hide my anger. Grabbing her arm I gently pull her towards me to class.
"What's your problem?" She looked over towards me with a confused expression. She should already know what's wrong.

"My problem? Why are you talking to Chris?"
My mouth felt like it was on fire while his name left my lips.

"I'm trying to make sure he doesn't try anything again" Rubbing the back of her neck she looked away from me.

"You guys seemed pretty lovely dovey, my problems been solved for over a month Amy"

Amy stared at me, anger in her eyes. Storming off, she goes into her class.

Walking to into English I drop down into the seat. The teacher walks in and starts the lesson.

"Okay class, take out the book we've been working with and read to chapter 17."

As she tells us what we work on, I put my head down. Slowly close my eyes and fall asleep.

Noah's PoV

I Occasionally read a page or two of the book we're currently reading, looking up Evan's dozing off.

Is he really that tired?

Laughing quietly, he finally puts his head down falling asleep.

Evan's still sleeping and class is almost over.

"Evan wake up." I whisper.

No response.

Looking around, I try to find something to wake him up with.

Grabbing my pencil I toss it towards him. I watch the pencil fly at him, hitting the back of his head.

Laughing to myself, his head shoots up. Evan looks around with wide eyes for a minute. Then makes eye contact with me.

Not being able to hold back my smile, a grin spreads across my face.

A frown replaces his tired expression. Soon after the bell rings. Shaking his head he stands and exits the room.

Who pissed in his coffee this morning.

Walking into the hall I look for Evan. After searching for him I finally spot him at his locker, it seemed like forever.

Making my way over to him I poke his back.

Turning fast he stares at me again with wide eyes.

"What do you want?" Venom laced his words.

"I was wondering if you wanted to hang out?"

That's not what I wanted to ask...

Still looking at me his expression softens.

"Sure. I don't have anything to do anyway."

Closing his locker he turns back to me.

"Where to captain?"

Thinking for a moment. A smile spreads across my face. "Let's go to this bakery I know, its close so we can just walk."

The walk to the bakery was quiet. Evan still seemed upset so I let him be.

When we got in we sat at a table. Evan got a muffin and some tea. While I had a donut and coffee.

After our time at the bakery, I drove Evan home.

Stepping out of the car he walks around to my side.
"I really needed this. Thank you."

Nodding I smile at him.

"You're welcome."

Turning on the car I start to back out.
"Oh hey wait!"

Evan says quickly tapping the car.

Looking towards him, I wait for him to finish.

"Do you maybe want to come over tomorrow for Thanksgiving? Unless you're having dinner with-"

"Sure, that sounds like fun." Quickly cutting him off.

Smiling he backs away. "Okay, come over around 7."
Nodding I back out. Driving home.

Evan's PoV

Amy and I haven't talked yet..

But Noah's coming over, I'm excited but nervous as hell.

The house has to be perfect.

Running down the stairs my mom's in the kitchen finishing the cooking with my dad beside her.

While setting the table I light the candles and arrange the plates, making sure everything looks nice.

Standing back I admire my work.

Checking the time its almost seven.

My mother kept my father busy, she made sure he had something to do.

My father walked into the dining room with the food while my mother followed with a smile on her face.
Thank the lord we got everything done in time.

"Evan go get Izzy down, we're going to be eating soon."

Nodding I make my way up the stairs, barging into Izzy's room, not caring if she yells.

"Evan, knock before you come in!" Of course, she yells at me.

Rolling my eyes "Mom said to come down."

Groaning she gets up walking past me going downstairs.

A knock on the door brings me out of my thoughts.

Rushing down to the door I open it.

Standing in front of me is Noah, dressed in a blue button-down shirt and black pants with an apple pie in his hands.

Looking up at him I smile

"Hey, come in."

We ate dinner, my mom mainly asked Noah questions about school and what career he wanted to do. After college, he plans on taking over his father's company.

Noah had such a pleasant and satisfied expression.

It was the happiest I've ever seen him since we've met.
