The Elitist

Chapter 2

Atlanta had vomited a lot of water more than she took. Her lungs and throat hurts a little but there's no way she was telling it. She brushed her lips using the back of her hand as she stared at the guy across her. He was achingly tall her neck got stiffened just to look at him. She eyed her from head to foot. He was too good for his own good. His jet black hair, disheveled in a messy way and stricken in different ways. However, it seemed messy sexy like he just came out of bed added to his class A features. His baby blue eyes darted to her and then to her father who was scowling at the guy for about a long time now. He had Roman nose, a fine line of lips and his very masculine body. He was clothed with a black V-neck tee, same brand as hers, an army tag draped around his neck while he wore his shabby trousers unimaginably. Black boots clad on his feet. Goodness gracious, she even thought for a second staring at him was illegal.

She hold onto his father's arms and get up, squeezing her drenched self when he answered her father's question. "Shade. I'm Jax Dean. I'm here to pay you a visit but it turned out quite not nice. I'm very sorry I didn't mean your lady to ran out of breath," he said in a hoarse voice. Even his voice was sexy, Atlanta noted. God, forgive me for my sins, she added quickly.

Shade scowl lighten a little. She can see his nose smoking, his face tomato-red and was about to explode any minute now. "You almost killed her -"

Atlanta put her hands against his stomach, forcing him not to punch the guy. "I'm okay, now. And it was not his fault. I was reaching for my book and lost balance. I didn't know I was in the deep side of the pool and panicked when I already knew," she reassuringly said to her father.

"Are you sure?" he shot her a pinning look. A look that say if you were lying, you'd be mess.

Atlanta nodded. "Yes, I'm sure. Hundred percent."

Her father turned to the annoyingly handsome guy. "Was that true?"

"Yes, sir. She's telling the truth," she can sensed that he was a little uneasy. He's touching his right brow too many times. Was he a fan boy? she thought.

The rock star nodded reluctantly at the guy. "Jade Dean's kid?" he asked.

"Yeah," he breathlessly said. Jade Dean? He's my idol! The zombie buster! she squealed deep inside her head. So, this guy in front of her was really Jade Dean's son? A sudden pang of nervousness and timid surged through her chest. In front of her was the son of the best zombie buster she'd ever known. But then, she hid her sudden agitation.

Atlanta was pouring hot water into two mugs when she remembered her father's furious face earlier. She could not believe that he was caring for her to the point of almost smashing the guy's face. And here she thought all along that her father was a stereotype rock star who knows nothing but to drink tons of liquor, screw everything that moves and to strum his electric guitar while screaming his own composed lyrics. He care for her. A bit. But at least he cares for his own offspring even if a bit. That she could manage.

She's living for twenty-one years now but got never really attached to her father. Shade impregnated Annie, her mom, at twenty-three. Her mom was originally from Edinburgh whose a huge fan of Poisonous. Her father had a tour there and hooked up with her mom. After ten years, Shade just discovered that he has a daughter. He cared enough to have test DNA and a father enough to sustain her needs more than she does. He's taking her with him once in every two months to shopping and that was all. He never really care for her or for her mom. He never loved her as real father does. He just did his obligations and responsibilities out of guilt. He never did go shopping with her blissfully. But at least, he buy her material things outrageously which apparently she didn't need. Annie's father was a politician in Edinburgh so Atlanta was well sustained even before her father came.
