I look at the girl in the picture and think of all the unknowns
I think of the harsh realities she is doomed to learn
war, poverty, death, hate
As she grows the world reveals itself to her without the rose colored glasses of a child.
She slowly loses her innocence as the burdens of life begin to wear her down.
But that's not all she will learn.
She'll learn love takes many forms and doesn't have to fit into the box of her fairy tales.
She'll learn the stories of people who selflessly spend their time on earth making it a better place.
She'll meet loved ones and find new passions and talents she never knew she had.
We're all just a sequence of thens and nows
Each one a different piece of a puzzle all our own.
