Sorry this has taken so long to get up! I'm trying to post a chapter a day but I just get preoccupied. Picture is of Alicia.

Caroline sighed and rose to her feet, causing Chewy to have to move. “Well…I guess we’ll have to turn in for the night. Even if there isn’t much night left,” she announced getting a nod from Big D in agreement.
Alicia sniffled slightly and pulled away from Jackson. “There are only two beds,” she mumbled.
Jackson gave her a small smile. “You can sleep in yours, Caroline will sleep in your father’s, and Big D and I will sleep on the floor,” he told her.
Alicia nodded slightly in understanding and stood up, walking over to the curtained off room and disappearing behind it.
Big D sighed slightly and turned to Caroline and Jackson. “Alright,” he whispered, “We need to move the body outside and get the weapons before turning in for the night, got it?”
Jackson and Caroline nodded slightly, not wanting to disturb Alicia and have her get upset by moving her father’s body away.
“Okay, Jackson helps me lift the body. Caroline gets the head and then we’ll take it outside and get the weapons back sitting in the car.”
Jackson moved over to the feet of the body and grabbed the ankles, cringing slightly at the feel. Caroline took a deep breath before walking to the head and picking it up by the hair the same way Jackson had done. She held it at arms’ length, feeling like she might vomit.
Big D gave them weak and supposedly encouraging smiles as he hefted Old Man Watson up by his armpits as Jackson quickly helped haul him up by the ankles.
They all wore grimaces as they slowly made their way to the door, Caroline keeping pace with them. She pulled open the door as quietly as she could, hoping Alicia had just fallen asleep by now so worn out from the day.
With Caroline holding the door open, Big D and Jackson carefully maneuvered the body down the stairs, trying not to slip. Luckily most of the blood had dried by now and didn’t seem to waver their grip. Spike and Chewy stayed helpfully out of the way, up in the doorway at the top of the stairs watching them curiously.
Caroline walked behind them, trying not to look at Old Man Watson’s head because its glazed eyes scared her to no end and to think that he used to be alive mere hours ago greatly disturbed her.
The men bumped their way down the stairs, trying to avoid knocking anything over when they made it to the shop. They were slowing down a little as they made their way to the entrance of Old Man Watson’s store and Caroline rushed ahead to open the door.
“Do you think any zombies can smell him?” she asked weakly as they walked through the door.
“Well, if anything, I’m sure they can smell us more than him,” Big D grunted as Jackson helped him lower the body to the ground.
Caroline cringed slightly before dropping the head onto the chest of Old Man Watson. “I suppose you’re right…”
Jackson nodded slightly and turned to the truck hardly able to see it in the night without the moonlight glinting off the windows. “So, lets get out all the weapons and head in for the night,” he announced reaching out for the door handle.
Big D fished the keys out of his pocket and unlocked the jeep as Jackson opened the door and clambered in, grabbing the weapons bag from the floor.
“I think there’s a flashlight under the seat,” Big D called into the car. “Get that out too.”
Jackson scavenged the floor of the jeep, looking for the flashlight. It was very difficult in the darkness of the car and a flashlight is much smaller than a huge bag of knives, guns, and other weapons. Eventually he managed to locate it and clicked it on, shining it down on Caroline and Big D’s faces.
“Found it,” he told them as they both tried to cover their eyes.
“I’d say we can see it but in fact we can’t,” Caroline said as Jackson clicked off the light. “Now I can’t see anything at all because that stupid light blinded me.”
Jackson smiled weakly and hopped down from the jeep. “Sorry,” he said with a shrug.
Big D kept blinking, trying to get his eyes adjusted to the light. “C’mon, we don’t want to get stuck out here unable to see and be attacked by zombies,” he pointed out.
Caroline and Jackson nodded in agreement and the three of them made their way back to the store, Big D shutting the door behind them.
“Alright,” he said looking back from the door to Caroline and Jackson. “Lets settle down for the night and then figure out what to do in the morning.”
“Okay,” Caroline said with a deep sigh and walked to the back of the shop and clomping up the steps.
Jackson looked to Big D and nodded. “Yeah…hey man, do you think the girls will be alright?” he asked.
Big D sighed slightly and shrugged. “No idea. But they’ll have to be if they want to survive. Don’t be too quick to think they can’t handle it. If anything I’d guess you can’t handle it,” he said with a smirk.
Jackson rolled his eyes slightly and made his way to the back of the store. “Whatever, lets just sleep it off,” he called over his shoulder.
Big D shrugged slightly and followed him up the steps until they reached the big room upstairs. He rolled his shoulders and sighed, shutting the door quietly behind him and assuming a spot on the floor, seeing Jackson climbing in with Caroline. Jackson had only done it because he felt the need to protect her and comfort her even though he’d said he’d take the floor.
Spike trotted over to Big D and plopped down next to him as the whole room fell quiet and everyone fell asleep.
