Difference (*Ackley Bridge*)

FOURTEEN

Cory had been in hospital for a couple of days, I had been to visit him every chance in the evening that I could and apparently so did his dad which shocked me a bit. He even got an occasional visit from Florence hoping that somehow he was going to realise that he really wanted to be with her instead of me but when she realised that Cory wasn't going to change his mind she stopped bothering and just left him alone. Surprisingly Riz never came to visit him, Cory had been in hospital for the past four days and not once did Riz come and see him I even spoke to him at school and asked him about it but he just brushed it off and walked away each time someone or myself mentioned it too him. I think he feels guilty that he did this too Cory, Cory knows it was an accident it was part of the game but I think it shocked them both that Riz had that much power to take him out and actually physically hurt him enough to put him in hospital to have a serious operation on his body.

I was sitting round Nas's since we decided to get ready for school together which was a nice change to my day.
"How's Cory?" She asked as she packed her school bag for the day.

"He's good he's recovering nicely I don't know when he'll be allowed to go home though." I told her,

"and you're both okay?" She asked

"We're fine actually." I smiled

"Good now come on we'll be late and we still need to pick up Missy." Nas said as we hurried out of her house and a couple of houses down the road where we saw Missy waiting outside her back garden gate for the both of us to get her.

"Ready?" Missy asked us both and we nodded. We all set off for school together and immediately I was called into the drama room with the other two because Miss Keane wanted to discuss my play that we all had to put together to perform for everyone.

"Okay so as you all know Lee here is directing this play for you all, so she will assign roles and characters for this play so if you have any problems take it up with her." Miss Keane joked as she smiled at me.

"Alright so for the female lead I want Missy to play Grace: New girl with the love interest of Ben. For the male lead I want Riz to play Ben: Egotistical boy with the love interest of Grace-" when I finished assigning the roles everyone seemed to be happy with them. I gave Nas the best friend of Grace who was called Alexandra, Nav had the best friend of Ben who was called Oliver and everyone else had a role that had somewhat of a speaking part because I didn't want to leave anyone out. I was the only student who wasn't involved; since I was writing the play I didn't want to be involved in it also.

After we all had a read through of the first couple of acts Miss Keane assigned the homework to everyone to read the whole play and get a grasp of what the play is about and write a sort summary to present to the class, I on the other hand didn't have this task I had the homework of finalising everything so that it was completely ready and finished for everyone to practice.

I was sat in English and normally I would have Chloe and Cory to keep me company but since one is in hospital and the other is ill I was currently sat by myself listening to my teacher go on about Macbeth which strangely I quite enjoyed, while I was listening to someone in the class read a part from the book I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket so I brung out my phone underneath the table to see that it was a text from my dad and when I unlocked my phone and read the text I felt physically sick to my stomach I actually thought I was going to throw up.
"Excuse me, Miss, can I go to the toilet?" I asked quickly and thankfully she nodded and let me leave so I grabbed my bag and rushed down the hall and on the way I passed Nas and Missy's science class so I grabbed their attention and very quickly the came out of the room and saw me in a panic.
