Out in the forest outside town a girl lives for the forest. She goes to feed the animals out in forest as she invents new things for the town. She's inspired by the beauty of the forest. She walked along a ridge and sat on a rock covered it moss. She looked beyond the horizon as the sun peaked it's head over the town's clock tower on the opposite side of were she sat. She sat for a moment soaking up the suns warmth a happy feeling. She rose up and stood on the rock as tall as she could. She slowly lifted her arms wise and tilted her head up. The wind ruffled through her hair. She inhaled deeply then released as she opened her eyes to see her town glowing as the sun hit all the windows in the town giving off a once in a life time beauty. She heard a distant voice call out her name. She instantly took a step forward were her foot dangled from the ridge and she slid down the ridge. She came to a fork in down the ridge and planeted her feet on the ground and began to run to the right. As the right path came to an end vines dangled infront because of the tree on the other side of the ridge. She ran full speed at an angle and grabbed a hold of a vine as she swung up and around to reach the other end of the ridge. She let go of the vine and it was as she was flying. She sored up to the cliff and prepared to land only to barely grab ahold of the edge of the ridge.
"Ugh." She groaned as she pulled herself up onto solid ground.
"Pidge, what are you doing?" The girl's brother asked helping her to her feet.
"Obviously trying to hold in my lunch Matt." Pidge said. Matt rolled his eyes as he followed Pidge walking into town.
"I mean you know how dad feels about you going outside town especially this early in the morning." Matt reminded.
"The forest is my safe place Matt. Out here i feel connected to it i-i don't know how to explain it...it just-"
"It is your place. Your special place. I get it. Come on we're gonna be late for school. Don't wanna ruin your perfect attendance." Matt taunted. Pidge rushed down the hill outside town. She ran to her house and opened the door in a hurry. The door flew back and hit the wall causing Pidge's dad to face her.
"Where were that you just came home?" Pidge's dad asked curiously. Pidge's mom in the kitchen giving Pidge the same curious look.
Matt walked in behind Pidge and spoke for her.
"We went out for a walk to wake up this morning before school," Matt said as he put his hand on her shoulder, "Come on Pidge we'll be late for school." Pidge ran upstairs grabbed her backpack and ran down stairs to meet Matt. Pidge wore her normal outfit of green and white shirt and tan capris. Her hair short and she put on her glasses. She hugged and kissed her mom and dad and followed her brother outside as they walked to school.
