The Boy in the Water

He woke up early before a the crack of dawn. He took his time and peeled off his mask and slipped out of his robe and into his clothes. He went to his dresser and grabbed swimming trunks. He said goodbye to his sister, brother, niece and nephew, tio, and tia, mom and dad before heading out. He walked down the street with his trunks hanging out of his coat pocket. He slowed down as he came to a crosswalk. He looked up at the blinding sun as it peeked it's head into the sky. The boy rolled his head as he waited and notice a girl standing in the distance. He turned and squinted for better visual aid. He saw a girl with short brown hair standing at the edge of the ridge outside town. He tried to see her face but her eyes took his attention away. In the sun the looked like gold, or a reflection of the sun it's self. He could tell by her stance she felt free. He noticed she took a step of the ridge and slid down out of sight. 

The boy stood there for a moment taking in what he saw. He didn't know what or who, he only had one thing to say...

"Who the heck is she?" He said combing his hand through his hair. A hand came up behind him touched his shoulder startling him.

"Lance! I made you a breakfast taco." His friend Hunk said holding out his taco. Lance awoke from his daydream and took the taco. 

"Oh, Thanks Hunk...Hey did you see that girl up there?" Lance asked.
"What girl?" Hunk asked not knowing.

"Ah, Nevermind. Come on we got to get to school before Allura does." Lance said in a hurry as he rushed through the street with Hunk following. They made it to the school and Lance headed to the swimming pool which was surrounded by a black bar fence.

"Are you sure you wanna do this?" Hunk asked as he waited for Lance to come out of the changing room.

Lance opened the door knocking Hunk off his feet.

"Time to get the girl." Lance said. As he sat waiting by the pool.

" Lance I just have to say if you do this your going to be dripping wet the whole day during school. Not to mention coach Shiro will probably make you run 10 laps around the school." Hunk said. 

"Relax Hunk I got this. Allura always walks down this path with Pidge and Romelle." Lance said practicing his dive. Lance heard a scoff from behind him and saw Keith leaning against the fence with his back facing them.

"You got something to say MULLET!" Lance yelled.

"It's been 3 years since you meant Allura and she hasn't given you a glance. Not to mention she's dating Lotor." Keith stated. 

"Your point?" Lance asked. 

"What exactly are you trying to do that you haven't done already?" Keith asked.

"Not that it's any of your business, I'm going to impress her by doing a somersault." Lance said with his pride.

"What's that suppose to do?" Keith questioned.

"Lance believes it'll prove how manly he is." Hunk explained.

"Yeah and nothing is going to stop me!" Lance said as he stood ready to dive. Sounds of giggling grabbed Lance's attention and he looked toward the gate were Keith stood as 3 girls walked by one with blonde hair another with light brown hair and the other with light blue hair. Allura glanced his way and with one look Lance's was falling into the pool without knowing. He splashed around realizing what happened then swam up to the surface were he met hunk by the black fence with Keith.

"Yeah, real manly huh?" Keith said. 

"Oh shut it!" Lance pouted. As he got out of the pool.
