Several nights after Jewel's wedding, Mother brought a small package signed Private and Confidentiality to my room and handed it to me as addressed on the receiver name.
"Who sent it?" I asked Mother curiously, holding the package in hand and seeing no name of the sender or whatsoever.
"Don't know," shrugged Mother. "I'm going to leave you alone if you don't want anyone to see you open the package."
"Please do," I told her.
She closed the door behind her muttering, "Private and confidentiality. No one has sent me anything marked such in years..."
The package was encased in purple wrapper and tied with the violet ribbons. Carefully, I untied the ribbons and tore the package. Out revealed a small black box. Axel must have sent this to impress me, I thought.
Slowly I pulled back the lid from the box, and saw a clocklike golden device lying in the cradle. Instantly I recognized what it was. It was the magic device - one that could transport a person or persons from one place to another.
I didn't know why, but my hand began to shake as I took that cool magic device in hand and observed it from all angle. It looked ditto clock, but with blank face and only a dial. Looking down at the open box on the bed, I saw a small folded note lying in depth of cradle.
I read the note, hand still shaking;
Dearest Sister
How are you?
I got the Transporter as my wedding gift from the king, and now I'm giving it to you because I don't want you to forget your love.
And also there's something I want you to know.
This might not seem important to put in this letter, but, as we both had rough days before my wedding day and you didn't get chance to buy new dress and gifts for us, I thought you might want to know this; back in the palace on our wedding night, King Mackaral apologized to me and Felix for fixing our wedding date so soon. He said he'd his reasons behind doing it, but wouldn't unclose them. He said he would tell us when the right time comes.
I'll tell you when he tells us. Meanwhile keep the Transporter. Use it well, Nutbrun.
Felix says "hi" to you.
Take care, and give my love to family.
Love from
Jewel
P.S; Thank Transporter for helping me punished Cotton, Moon and Aqua. They're million of miles far from Wingland now; they're in Mars, the red planet. Don't worry, they'd be fine. The aliens are happy to receive them as visitors.
I laughed. Cotton, Moon and Aqua must be wishing now they had never known Jewel in their life. But they deserved the punishment. I folded the letter, feeling elated like a child who had gotten what she wanted from her parents.
I knew the power of this device. Transporter. It would help me bridge the gap between Wingland and any place in the Universe. Unlike others, she didn't want me to forget Éclair. Oh, I love my sister more.
I scrambled out the room into the living room where Horn and Hazel were smooching on the couch. "Would you two not do that in this house?" I told them.
"Mind your business, Nut," Horn said back, and continued smooching shamelessly.
I stamped my foot and stomped in the kitchen looking for Mother. Finding her there, I told her what Horn and Hazel were up to in the living room.
